Sym rant thread

man people are impatient. if they did all that, she’d be forced meta again then nerfed below her original point. it only took shield changes and qol buffs for dva to come back, and we thought she would need a lot more.

Have you tried it or do you just want to rant?

I still felt Sym 3.0 felt worse than 2.0, pre-infinite TP. The higher damage potential feels good, but she feels 100x more defenceless and squishy.

Just posting only positive stuff about other melee characters to make them look good is not make Sym look even worse. Yes, she still has problems which needs to be adressed, but Mei is far worse than Sym at this point.

Yes, because Mei was overnerfed. Her ammo changes turns her into “reload simulator”. All she needs is for her ammo changes to be reverted, and then she’d be fine.

I guess you’re right, this could work. Although I felt it would be better if they removed the delay on her icicles instead of making her more cc focused

This needs to stay the case as long her projectiles are the largest in the game by far. They can be big or fast, not both. And they’re still good for a quick and easy 120 damage when popping out from behind things at close range.

sure but their current size does not compensate for how slow they are in both projectile speed nor in fire rate:

if a squishy has something with charge time, it better be aimable and not be so easily dodged. otherwise it defeats the point of having it charge up.

you say that as if that’s a reasonable or frequent situation for sym to be in on her terms now that her tool to do so is either stuck elsewhere or stuck in cs land no matter how well you optimise self destructs… :unamused:

Sym is garbage and I love her because of that.
there is no better feeling than taking a low tier hero and winning a game with it. It’s like a teabag, but better.

If they did that, I would need to stop my hate for Hanzo.

give her the piercing projectiles back. would solve a lot of problems

The is a bad take, and exemplifies the problems with many players in general that no concept or clue of what Symmetra is. She is not compared to Doomfist, Mei or Reaper, she compared to - and only to - Torbjorn. That’s it. Torbjorn and Symmetra are the only builders in the game and the only ones that can be directly compared to one another. And when you make the effort to analyze and see the comparisons, you’ll realize than Symmetra and Torbjorn are more alike than anyone else in this game.

Not only is this hyperbole, it’s foolishly naive.

It also has twice the wind-up and I’m not even sure it can be classified as a projectile since no one can stop it.

Likewise, I don’t think they can be classified as a projectile since it can’t be DM’em, KG, or Deflected.

Learn to lead your shots.

Certainly possible, would have to lower the damage a bit to make it work, and it’d lose the splash/explosive effect, but it could work.

She was never intended to be a general use hero.

Back in the beginning of OW they had the intention of niche heroes that people would swap to and off. Sym never got generalized in order to keep her builder like identity.

You need to give up some of Sym’s kit current identity to rework her into something functional.
Her concept design was based on being niche and different.

Ever wonder why it’s the most unique heroes that struggle in this game?
Mei, bastion,Sym, Sombra, Torb.
They were born from the idea of being situational

Tallest, but certainly not the widest. Not to mention that Firestrike is on a cooldown, Symmetra’s orbs aren’t.
