Sym nerfed because of Sigma hype

People aren’t hopping on the Sym train because of the minor buff she got. People are hopping on the Sym train because she’s good against Sigma. What’s going to happen when the “new hero hype” dies down? Sym will be in the exact same spot she was before, but now with a huge nerf that was uncalled for, because she got to be even remotely meta for the first time in years… even if it only lasted two weeks.

Sym isn’t allowed to be good, clearly.

First off the beam bug fix was not minor. It was a pretty big deal for both her and zarya(who also got nerfed)

It was fair and balanced them both out with their damage

Sigma main here, I wish your beam changes get reverted along Sig’s damage nerf.

The fixes put Sym in a good place. Not overpowered, not oppressive, not a must-pick, but simply- Viable. That’s all we want. We want to be viable. We want to be able to pick our main and not be accused of throwing before the doors even open.

We finally got that, and then boom 50% reduction in beam size and a reduction in beam power… INCLUDING A NERF TO OUR ALREADY ABYSMAL MINIMUM DPS?!

I think Zarya got nerfed because she synergiesed with Sigma too well. Her beam fix along with all the other buffs she got made her strong as a result.

As for Sym, she is getting balanced out due to her infinite teleporter and with 222 we can except other characters to get similar treatments.

Like I’m expecting Mei’s wall to get weakened at some point or enable her cryofreeze to be broken.

Stop thinking that’s the reason, or that there is one. Balance decisions are decided by throwing a dart blindly at a nerf/buff board.

  1. It wasn’t minor. At all.

  2. She’s good against everything on live. Having shields to melt down just makes her over the top.

  3. What personal agenda could Blizzard have by “not allowing” Symmetra to be good? If anything, 2-2-2 is a chance for her to thrive against shield comps even after the nerf.

You’re right! 2-2-2 was our chance to thrive! We got to thrive for a whole two weeks. Personal agenda? Blizzard always caves to the flank-DPS hero players whining. If you have an opinion, it only matters to bliz if you main genji or tracer. Another personal agenda? Not wanting their new hero to feel weak because of the popularity of a strong counter to him. Another personal agenda? Who knows. No level of developer incompetency could explain a hero being so bad for so many years, so there must be some sort of reasoning.

Infinite tp is literally a nerf outside of spawn tps dude…
