Sym is currently still a map tool for OWL.
That needs to change, this joke should not continue.
Either Sym becomes a Dps like Torb or Mei
Or Sym becomes a healer like Moira or Brig
A path needs to be decided
Or she will remain as a map tool forever.

She’s been very very powercrept over as of lately. I’m barely playing her because it requires way too much effort to get value.

I’d suggest these changes
PRIMARY FIRE
Increased every level of charge dps by 5
Secondary Fire
When fully charged, now pierces enemies and barriers.
Teleporter
When placed, the cool down instantly begins and stops at 5 seconds.
No longer gets blocked by the payload
Photon Barrier
Duration increased to 14 seconds

At this point, I want to know the direction Devs want to go with Sym.
If we keep going with her as a map tool.
We might as well make her as part of the map and not a hero.

Which wouldn’t surprise me after the whole “Fun to play” thing that came up. "We want Moira to be fun to play"
I mean they thought Genji was gonna be “fun to play”
Not admitting mistakes is just wrong man.
i just can’t believe they sit there and watch her be used for a single ability in some cases and swapped off, and actually consider that to be okay
in no universe of game balance logic should that ever be acceptable
as if she wasn’t already bad enough, literally watching this single tactic should have raised huge red flags
it would have even been more acceptable if they stayed on her, for at least that one point
but, no, she couldn’t offer enough value to make herself useful compared to her alternatives
that is absolutely trash that needs to be fixed, immediately
and the longer they wait, the more disgusting it looks on their part, especially after buffing a hero who has been statistically better for the entire game’s history, like genji, that much, while ignoring her, like, i wouldn’t have even cared if they buffed him and her at the same time, but, nope, they ignored that huge glaring problem entirely
please, make her a support again, doe, not a dps, if she’s to be reworked again, ugh
i was so mad they didn’t just try to make her a real support before making her a full dps
i get that she was never really a support to begin with, and i don’t like a lot of things about 2.0 that a lot of the screeching symmetra mains do, but she was already in that category, and a single ability could have turned her concept around to fit it better
however, not like moira/brig, though
more like lucio/zen
not much “healing”, or even any healing at all, but the consistency from an ability to stabilize an ally’s health bar to keep them in a fight by keeping them above 0 health
then, add most of the value she’d bring from utility, and a swinging ult like trans/beat, which her barrier already basically offers, more so if they made it a closed shape and applied something to allies inside, as well
it’s not even power creep at this point
she was nearly a decent pick in the meta that should have literally defined her character after her bugfix
but then she was nerfed and nerfed and nerfed

Honestly I can only imagine what would happen if Sym suddenly existed in our universe and saw all this.
Imagine Blizzard would owe a lot of money.
No direction, it seems. Why mess around with taxi lady when there’s a fun cyborg man to give enhancements to?
I am sure that Cyborg would appreciate the taxi be upgraded to an ambulance.
He does need healing after all.

I agree that she needs help but I don’t think she’s a “map tool” in regular play.
Yes, it’s very aggravating to see her as a taxi in OWL and played the completely wrong way by professional players, however that’s just in OWL where we see that happen. If you watch any Symmetra main with a brain they don’t use TP solely for taxi, they use it for flanks, bombs, evasion, etc.
Her damage is fine to me and I personally think that her kit is the thing hindering her. Maybe some small dmg buffs, but nothing major is needed for improving her dmg. She just can’t push into enemies as well as other heroes can cause she just gets annihilated, nothing to do with her damage.
Idk, she’s just got a weird play style because of her kit. Her kit doesn’t allow her push in by herself like she needs to and her kit is catered to compliment a “flank” or “hide/spam” play style instead of a “push” play style like she needs.

She’s held back by QOL problem: you can’t tell the status of your weapon’s beam damage level.
This is intolerable, this is like Zarya not being able know her beam energy.
Also her beam energy level acts so weird, if you’re at maximum beam energy and let it go down it takes about 3 seconds to drop from 3rd level to 2nd level… then it drops all the way down to 1st level in only about a second!
On paper she’s okay as a DPS, but so many annying weird idiosyncrasies in her kit sabotage her potential.
Hilariously they changed sym because she was niche etc etc
Now shes even more niche than she was before. If they’re gona be like oh we’ll just keep her niche just revert her to sym 2.0 and keep her there as she was way more useful
