She was reworked into her current form because she was “too niche” and often was, as the Devs put it, used for defense for first point and then swapped off. So they reworked her to make her more viable all around.
However, now she’s only used for first point attack on even less maps; specifically just Hanamura and Eichenwald first point JUST for her teleport and then swap off her

Because she is not to fun to play for 95% of the playerbase. She base her entire kit on put 3 sentries + camp her kills. Sorry but nobody likes to WAIT behind of a door + being a teleport bot

Really? because it seems like Symm can be effective on more than first point defense situations… She’s particularly strong on maps that lets you hold a choke or a point.
And I personally dislike the guy’s personality, but if you watch Stevo he can make perfect use of TP mid fights and he reaches top500 player maining her. That’s saying something.
Or maybe you’re only talking specifically on her use in OWL or something?

I know there is notorious gm Symmetra one-trick though…
So at least few people like it.
I vote for teleport changes to help her get it more dynamically:
Keep it permanent, from the moment she deploys it a 12 sec cooldown starts, if destroyed (self or enemy destroyed) within the 12 seconds CD, it gets to be replaced by the end of the CD, if destroyed after she gets to wait 12 secs CD again.
Basically if Sym TP lasts more than 12 secs, she have to wait a 12 sec CD to deploy it again after destroyed. If it doesn’t last more than 12 secs, you can deploy another at the end of a 12 sec CD just like before the changes.

I want to love Sym. I want her to be a regular part of my damage hero pool, but she just feels too clunky.
I’d much prefer a teleporter on a low CD that worked INSTANTLY and only allowed two people to travel, for instance Sym and a pocket healer for flanks.
Seems like too frequently the best use of the current teleporter is to set it and forget it so teammates can get back from spawn faster. It’s not engaging. It’s not fun.
Her sentries are a bore as well. I’m probably in the minority on this one but I don’t enjoy using aimbot mechanics. I want to fight and kill – not be notified in the killfeed when my sentries have done it on my behalf. I’d have no complaints if her sentries were scrapped and instead she was given a tertiary fire mode with her old lock on beam at reduced DPS.
Her ult isn’t bad but I’d prefer something more offensive that actually did damage. Minor complaint though. And either her beam should be longer or her orbs should be faster.
If Blizzard redesigns her again, they need to stop trying to preserve the aspects of her kit that caused her to be niche in the first place.

its ironic her tele is used like her old ult was before… i feel they should have just had old sym and give her new syms turrets, have her ult be the shield gen, and keep new syms tele…that you can convert to old syms tele when you ult…so its a stronger old sym. i miss old sym

Honestly, as long as she has a teleporter, she can enjoy the state she is in. You cannot have a real hero that also teleporters an entire team. One or the other.
I still firmly believe that Symmetra 2.0 is the best version of Symmetra. Give her the original Sym 3.0 primary fire and call it a day.

So, the other being a fake hero that can teleport the team?
huh?
I like how so many of you when sym3.0 was released were like “omg sym1.0 and sym2.0 is dead, just adapt to sym3.0 she’s different” but then now a lot of you inc. devs are like “omg she’s supposed play pretty much exactly like sym1.0 and sym2.0”.
like no. that’s not what sym3.0 is supposed to be played like, you guys and the devs need to stop treating her as such (referring to the tp cd massive nerf which effectively reverted the sym3.0 rework). sym3.0’s design is supposed to dynamically move her structures around to control/zone the enemy to what she/the team wants whether that may be to specifically kill by moving her territory to capture the enemy or to block out a territory for sym’s team to claim and attack the enemy from.
the sooner everyone and the devs admit this, the sooner sym will get actual healthy changes.
he also made it to really high ranks with sym1.0 and sym2.0. does it mean they were also perfectly fine and having 0 blatant design issues? no. Fitzy makes it really high ranks with sombra too, does it mean there aren’t issues with sombra’s kit? likewise with kolorblind with bastion or fuey with old torb.
so we literally have a whole year of data across various meta shifts where sym had a more frequent tp casts and unnerfed everything yet she wasn’t OP nor oppressive… pretty sure “OP TP” isn’t really a big concern here even if it was reverted to back when it was better… if TP casts were like being spammed every 2s or so then yeah you have a point, but no-one’s asking for that.

I mean… Reaper, Sombra and Tracer are the other teleporting heroes. Ha ha ha.
That is one way to use Sym, but not the only way. Neither the best or must effective way.
You talking about Stevoo?
Correct, Sym 2.0 and Sym 3.0 are pretty much different heroes. Sym 2.0 mostly stayed in the back, in contrast to Sym 3.0 who is way more aggressive.
It is fine, but she is not getting buffed because of it. You guys can complain about every last aspect until you are blue in the face… Blizz will not allow it for obvious reasons.
You talking about Stevoo?
No. An asian one. Female player.
Though that applies to all heroes. The devs don’t actually read the forums.
If they did Sombra would actually be good.
The devs only listen to Streamers and OWL players.
Oh that is cool, can you give me her name if you find it?

current tp isn’t fine… you can’t have expect 0 viability issues for a damage hero that’s designed supposedly be in close range (their EFFECTIVE range) for long periods of time to do her job but has no reasonable independent way to get there nor stay there esp when literally all her competition in the damage cast doesn’t have this issue.
nor can you expect 0 viability issues with a damage hero nerfed to need to stay in a static area for really long periods of time in a game where:
- literally most game modes have moving objectives, even the upcoming new mode in OW2
- plenty of heroes have mobility tools/abilities making them not stay in 1 static area for long, esp with the upcoming ptr changes to tanks which would lead to more frequent team repositions
like there are many complaints for obvious reasons…

Revert the darn unnecessary Teleporter cooldown changes and she’d be pretty good currently.
The Teleporter changes killed turret bombing and crippled her mobility while only making it slightly more accessible for allies, probably one of the worst balancing tradeoffs I’ve seen.

But, your options was
1.) A real hero
or
2.) One that teleports the team
I mean, if I get to decide, they’re ALL real heroes. But we’re going off of your choices.
Revert infinite TP if they’re not gonna balance it right.
Make orbs faster.
I want 80/120/180 primary dps instead of 60/120/180.
