Switch suggestion: Holding the gyro reset button disables gyro controls

I mean, if you hold down the button that is used to reset the reset the camera will disable the gyro controls while it’s being held.

Like, if you’re trying to perfectly line up a shot but it gets to shaky because of controls, wouldn’t it be nice to temporarily disable the motion controls so you can get that perfectly still shot? I get this issue a lot with Hanzo

They should just add a gyro disable option that’s separate from the reset option. TBH the reset option shouldn’t even be there. It’s pointless if you have a gyro disable option.

All the gyro-reset button does is vertically center your screen. The idea is you orient your controller so it’s in its starting/resting position. Then press the button to vertically align the camera.

However, a gyro disable button allows you to do the same thing and more. It allows you to reorient horizontally. To do so you tilt the controller so your screen is centered. Then hold down the gyro disable button and return your controller to its resting/starting orientation. Then release the gyro disable button. This takes into account both pitch and roll whereas the gyro reset button only takes into account pitch.

When you use a mouse you constantly will move it and then pick it up off the table, reset it, and move it again. A gyro disable button allows you to do the same thing with a gyro controller. With a gyro disable button you can make micro adjustments to keep your controller orientation in its starting/resting orientation. This allows you to aim using only gyro and not having to rely on the camera stick as much. In fact it’s entirely possible to play only using gyro and the gyro disable button in this way. (Although I think the camera stick works great for certain situations so I wouldn’t only rely only on the disable button.)

I actually think a button that reduces sensitivity (and thus shakiness) would help you more than a disable button. Maybe allow you to set a custom sensitivity when held or something. In Steam you can set a custom sensitivity when pressing the trigger button which is often set to fire. That’d be a good option as well.

This means every time you press the fire button the sensitivity would reduce temporarily and help eliminate some of the shaking that happens just when you press a button.
