Switch is too sloooooow

I have played overwatch on all platforms and while i prefer xbox this isnt about preference. I recently tried playing Ow1 on switch and it was so bad. Frames dropping everywhere. I was dead 3 seconds before i realized someone was even attacking me. The only way i could compete was by playing junkrat or torb to make aiming less needed. Switch has fallen into such an awful piece of hardwear that non cell shaded games arent viable.

Basically the team with the least amount of nintendo switch players wins at this point. It has nothing to do with skill or comp or positioning or ult management or checking flanks or anything else. Its not the player’s fault. I dont blame switch players if i lose or anything. I do however realize there is a problem. Either pull Overwatch from nintendo switch or make their competitive a separate pool. Its like they are combining the special olympics with the real olympics at this point. This isnt an argueable opinion either. This post is an indisputable fact and this far fallen behind console is threatening the console pool competitive integrity of the game.

Obviously the ow team has more pressing concerns atm but this will need to be addressed at some point. Nintendo sees no need in updating their hardware as it still is seeing profits but they need 3rd party games to start telling them no. I have gotten lots of fun from my switch but it can no longer keep up and its been the case for a while now.

Ok, think I pinpointed your problem…

You are playing on the Nintendo switch!

Switch ports aren’t made with love

The switch port was almost blatantly more of a cash grab than anything. Trying to bank off the turbo casual gamer who maybe has never played an FPS before but owns the Switch and may want to try.

I think there are some good ideas there, like gyroscopic aiming, but the game is extremely poorly optimized. Low resolution, low frames per second… playing OW on switch can’t be anything more than a “I have 10 minutes to burn, let me play a match really quick.”

hello, I am a masochist who has played almost a silver border’s worth of hours on switch and you get used to it! lol

the lack of frames and slow loading times is annoying sometimes but after a while I played about as well as I did on PS, even picked up Ana.

anything is possible if you believe

Apparently performance with overwatch 2 is improved now and stays at a locked 30fps most of the time.

Are you running in docked or in portable mode?

Switch lol. The only reason worth having a switch now a days is to play zelda or smash bros. Every other game is better off being played in other platforms. Idk why anyone would bother playing overwatch on the switch, its like you want to have a bad experience.

Docked on Switch Oled with lan cable connected. PS wireless usb headphones. Lol at the troll!

I get why ppl would play on switch. If its all they have its all they have. Its more affordable and portable. Players doing the best they can, ow team doing the best they can to optimize the game. Its nintendo thats the problem. They keep consoles out way passed their capabilities. I dont wanna take ow away from everyone on switch… Just how else will they be encouraged to release a next gen console unless third parties start saying “hey, were not deminishing our beautiful game to look bad and play bad on switch just cause you are still making money on a last gen console with the processing power of a 1997 Nokia brick phone.”

But its not all I have lol! Some of you have some serious growing up to do. Maybe i dont like being tethered to a monitor all day. Its just a better console from head to toe, its called convenience. I play it at home and on the road. Taking my daughter to an apple orchard in the mountains this weekend and guess which console ill be playing Overwatch 2 on? I dont even play in handheld mode just straight up tabletop mode with my pro controller. Steam deck is the only platform i would consider better than a Switch (it needs a dock included), not trash consoles holding me back to 1997 standards of technology that lacked any once of convenience. I played shooters at home only in 1997 on my Nintendo 64 and here we are doing the same thing almost 20 years later. The most popular devices on the planet are mobile devices, again its called convenience.

Do you think just cause you can move your switch easier than a tv it stops becoming a screen? If you like it at home AND on the go id say you like it more than anyone else. You like it way more than anyone who just plays at home.

Ya going out and carrying a switch around with you is waaaaaay more convenient than sitting at home playing games… Uh huh…

Youre a fanboy brah. Basically you are saying a switch is better even though it is out performed in every aspect 100x by every next gen console and pc because you can walk around walmart with it. Like gaming at home instead of gaming between weighing apples and picking out frozen pizzas is inferior. You have no argument. You have an opinion and a preference you are confusing with a fact.

Lol i have plenty of arguement, it is in route to becoming the highest selling platform of all time. Clearly the rest of the world agrees and like it more than anything else not just me, maybe convenience is more important than hardware specs for millions. More portable than my tv lol, what? I can play at home or anywhere else dude thats the point. Its a home console or handheld whenever it needs to be, thats called convenience. Yeah playing at home is inconvenient, because people have lives clown. We leave the home instead of sitting around home all day, why do you think smartphones are easily the highest selling devices on the planet?
