Is there going to be a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Overwatch 2 at or around launch? I have been playing Overwatch since 2019 when it came out on Switch and I just want to play Overwatch on newer hardware. (I only have a switch please don’t flame me haha) I have been waiting for some kind of announcement, but I can’t find any information on the topic. I would love to know if I can play my most played game ever on my nice new console next week.

As far as I know, there hasn’t been an official announcement that there will be a switch 2 version but the switch has backwards compatibility with switch 1 titles, so I expect you would still be able to play it on there.

Well now that OW franchise is F2P, I would say it is likely.

If the Switch 2 is able to run Switch 1 games automatically, then there is no need to have a seperate version for the Switch 2.
It will just run, and probably with better performance.
It all depends on the amount of development time needed. If it costs a lot of dev time (and money), it’s probably not worth it for them, or at least not a priority.
If the Switch version is earning them a lot of money, they will definitely do the necessary work asap.

I just wanna say, Im sorry u have to play on the Switch. I did that for about a week in November when my video card was acting up. My deepest condolences 
I bet Switch 2 will run OW2 a lot better.

Actually, apparently Switch 2 emulates Switch 1 games instead of them just being flat out playable
That does make me wonder if a game like OW2 will recieve a dedicated Switch 2 version since it’s free to play
