The suspensions for lagging out and conciously leaving a game should be different. Clicking the button to leave and recieving a disconnect message are vastly different things and should both recieve different punishments. A lot of players aren’t choosing to abandon their games, they are lagging out. Disconnecting from the server causes players to get suspensions or bans and it’s really hard to rank up or actually enjoy the game. Especially with the new competitive update on suspensions/bans. Players who disconnect (willingly or not) will now get a harsher punishment than they did in season 3.

Each rage quite or DC makes ladder unenjoyable for 4 to 9 other players on ladder.

Its not a way to avoid matches actually. I’m suggesting less harsh punishment for people who get disconnected from the server. It’s also relevant that this wouldn’t even be a feature at all if matchmaking wasn’t this bad. It as unenjoyable to lag out from a competitive game as it is to lose a teammate from a lag-out. Plus majority of these lag-outs are the servers being bad not even the players internet.

If you’re suspended for more than a few minutes or hours, then you’ve left a good number of games.
Over 40 or so season I’ve DC’d maybe 8 games total, over two accounts?

Okay, my bad. I meant overwatch servers on console, they are significantly worse than pc servers.
I heard you out on the post before. Instead of the punishments being different it could be a match thing, where the game pauses for a minute to give the player time to join back and not letting it continue on as an unfair fight before the person can get back. I know that they already have a system similar to that, if you don’t join back in 2 minutes or something it gives you a penalty. But the problem is that while you’re trying to join back your team is highly disadvantaged and most likely losing. Changing the team fight drastactly. Competitive is supposed to be a serious gamemode.
Example: Similar to a custom game pause screen for a minute top.
If you have bad internet you shouldnt be playing comp. If you have a random 3 - 4 times a YEAR DC then thats fine but too many people have crap shoot internet and still try to play comp.

I have been disconnected from the game a few times, it’s 100% the servers. As I have really good internet, the bars will be perfect and I still will disconnect from the game.
Yeah, people do play competitive with horrible internet but thats such a small percentage. A ton more people disconnect due to the servers than internet.

I’ve been disconnected because of the servers also. When multiple people from both sides start vanishing and rejoining, that’s not an internet issue. Yet you’re still punished. Not a big deal before, but annoying. Now with their new super aggressive system which seems to never? reset. It’s only a matter of time before you get a season ban.

I agree my Internet was having connection issues last season I got a bunch of disconnects and now I suddenly can’t play any of season for anyone who sends in messages to the developers telling them and explaining what happened should be on banned I do not feel like it is true that they can’t unbend people because if it were to happen to a streamer they would unban them this is not right and you need to start unbanning the people that did not willingly disconnect from the game blizzard or soon you will not have a community at all

How do I get banned when I play everyday. overwatch support is awful as well. I cant get In contact with anybody via phone, email, or online chat. I think they’re trying to end this game. Because theyre definitely not trying to maintain long time players. I was convincing all my friends to come back to overwatch 2 but after this, maybe its time for Call of Duty. Terrible customer support.

This! My endorsement was resettet, idk why, no mail or information. So i asked the support and answer were “we don’t know this” and linked me an url for the official support forum

I agree, it seems our loyalty is being taken advantage of. Maybe its time to find somewhere else to spend my time gaming… I also think they should use the endorcement system as a couter balance to the leaving/disconnection system. X amount of endorcements = 1 game disconnecet/leave with no penalty. Maximum st
