Blizzard still ignore this problem since overwatch 1
“Maybe is your internet connection?” Bro i’m playing in GeForceNOW, how is supposed geforce now servers have issues connecting to overwatch server? This only happens in overwatch, that’s insane. Incompetence of overwatch devs to fix this since 2017 its absurd.
Clicking to return to match does not have any effect.
And in the chat popup “Failed to connect to the server”.
Now wait many minutes AGAIN because this garbage server.
At least now i can record, since GeForceNOW app have builtin recording feature, now i can prove that was server side error and NOT my internet connection or my old laptop.
Congratulations OW2 lazy devs!
Just now, that i was in winstreak the server “magically” decide to refuse my connection and i get suspended plus my rank decay again.
Using GeForceNOW doesn’t magically mean you have perfect connections. Its a server farm with lots of them running shoddy hardware. If the GeForce server your running from is having issues connecting to the Blizzard servers your gonna get disconnects, especially with the weather issues going on this weekend.
Oh sure, the video quality during the stream remains intact, without any loss, but the problem really isn’t with Blizzard’s rotten servers. It’s with GeForceNow. Now everything makes sense…
15 mins? excessive af. playerbase was larger when timeouts were 5 minutes.
timeouts should only occur IF player fails to rejoin on 5 different occasions. obviously in your case you never got to join to begin with, and if it wasn’t recorded, few would believe you. artificial timeouts should be reverted back to 5 minutes which only activates upon 5 failures to rejoin match. meaning 5 different instances. egregious timeouts is the equivalent of internal sabotage.
You have a good connection with the GeForce server, doesn’t mean it has a good connection to Bliz. Whenever I get DC’d not using a separate server farm I don’t have lag issues either or such, so whats your point on the stream remaining intact.
You can always tell when someone lacks even a rudimentary understanding of how the internet works. Because they think the internet is a simple connect point A to point B.
Yes, Blizzards servers can be perfectly fine AND your stream remain connected at the same time and you can still disconnect. This is because your stream and your connection to blizzard take different path’s both FROM your pc and BACK from the service they are connected too.
The path your connection takes to Blizzard could have issues outside of either you OR blizzard.
Looks like a classic server bug on Blizzard’s end, we have the same issue on EU very often, you can even use match chat while the game is found (that’s how I know it affects everyone else who was supposed to connect to the game) but it’ll never load the game, usually it sends you back in queue tho.
It’s funny that this type of problem only happens in Overwatch…
This has been a bug since Overwatch 1, the game doesn’t even try to connect to the server and forces you to get stuck in the lobby.
By the way, Blizzard’s servers aren’t perfect, after all, they’re not even hosted by Blizzard itself, they’re a third-party company (aka Amazon / AWS). And AWS keeps causing a lot of problems with the Overwatch servers, especially crashes in the middle of the competitive match.
I noticed this too, due to the number of times that competitive matches (and even quickplay) crash. It’s not because of the game client, but rather the server. When there are several players ulting at the same time, the risk of crashing increases.
There was one time when I was playing as a mauga, I tried to use the dash, I collided head-on with the DVA, it generated a collision event and made the server crash. I realized that this happened because the DVA strangely went under the ground. Then I saw right away in the chat “Server closed due to unexpected error”
This thing about the game not letting you join the match is happening all the time. When I opened Overwatch yesterday (about 5 or 6 matches before this one) the same thing happened, it canceled the match before another player even joined. Like it didn’t even show that he left the match, he simply couldn’t join.
But according to the user above, Blizzard’s servers are perfect and errors never occur.
And now, reviewing the video, I noticed that the Team match chat was available. So it only confirms that it is a server error. It doesn’t make sense for only the chat to work. But Blizzard doesn’t care, and punishes the player, unbelievable!
Actual server crashes don’t give a penalty. Do you think your connection to geforce now means there can’t be any issues from geforce now to overwatch servers?
No issue between geforcenow and overwatch servers, no lag, no network issues. Even netgraph show 0% packet loss. This is not first time i saw this, but happened with other players. Now happened with me.
It’s funny how I only have connection issues with discord.
Does that mean that the problem is on discords end? Possible but not for certain. It can be neither end. It can be one of the dozens of hops between them. Either on outbound path or inbound.
Never claimed they were. My point is that you have misconceptions of how the internet works. That it is point A to point B and that it can only be one or the other.
The difference its because discord have only single API/Gateway hosted in only single place (except for voice channels). In overwatch its the same, lobby server its only entire global game (they have clusters that split server load), the match servers are hosted in each region. This problem happened with the match server that didn’t allowed me enter in match.
Considering many people reported this problem since OW1 and they didn’t fixed this yet. I’m sure this is blizzard side
Oh gosh this happened to me before. It was the only time I landed myself an hour ban from comp. Turns out a vpn I thought was turned off was actually on and once I turned it off I was free. I don’t know anything about GeForce now so I can’t say if that’s the cause to your problem.
Ow tech issues try not to ruin my placements challenge.
Jesus happened just now again. The game crashed in MIDDLE OF COMP, i was without remaining bypass queue time. I had to buy extra hours to start the game again to don’t be punished. Blizzard don’t care for this game problems.
