Surrender button

Can we please implement surrender button please. Some games are just impossible to win so why wasting time playing.
GG GO NEXT!

I’d rather bring back leaving. At least that way doesn’t encourage bullying your teammates into surrendering as well.

My only issue with this is it could be abused by Smurf stacks to derank their accounts.

I would be fine with a surrender button only if all 5 people need to press it and only in comp.

Nope. You’d have people in low ranks ready to quit after one death (like in other games with surrenders) because they watch streamers. And this Hanzo (or whoever) isn’t playing like they “should”. GG go next. Team diff. Etc etc.

I’d much much rather waste that persons time in a video game.

This will never be a thing since the game/match can not be held hostage. It has a time limit.

What if the matchmaker just worked properly, or closer to properly, like it used to…

True there are matches that feel unwinnable because of the bad MM but we all already know this going into OW. Honestly if you can’t take a loss then maybe a competitive PVP shooter isn’t the game for you.

Which would also mean they’d leave when you’re stomping as well. I’m all for better matchmaking, but not this. So sick of people just rolling over when things look sour as if turnaround can’t happen. And if not? It’s, losing is still part of the game.

so you throw games and waste people’s time. got it.

No, I play games to play games. Win or loss, it’s still a game I’m having fun in. As everyone should.
Yes, I do want to keep that tryahard guy in my game with me. Who is ready to ff after one person dies on someone they disagree with. Waste that idiots time

I dont like the penalty system in place.

The penalties design is stupid in nature because we are stuck with ded-weight potatoes that wont leave matches.

As someone who plays League…

No no no no no no no no no no no NO no no No no no no no no no no

For reference, in League, the second anything goes wrong(not even a team thing goes wrong, someone could die once), they instantly say the game is “unwinnable” and stop trying to win. They then throw up surrender votes off cool down and intentionally lose the game to try to get their teammates to vote yes the next time.

While they throw away this winnable game, they say that they’re “being held hostage.”

What do you think about say adding a cooldown to it so say you can only vote to urrender once an hour? And I’d add to that further that you can’t vote to surrender within 2 minutes of the game starting.

How about this. The surrender button is only available if and only if one of the team leaves. These matches are impossible to win, so if someone leaves that player is penalized severely (to avoid spamming from smurfs, which should be banned anyway), and the rest can surrender if everyone agrees. Say the mercy rule option activates one minute after a player leaves so he can rejoin in the case of a bad connection. It won’t count as a loss (or, maybe it can be a flat -10% of the rank) except for the player that left, and the other team takes their victory.

No because it justifies giving up halfway through the match, and at that point most people will throw the game if the team won’t surrender. If cheating were a tremendous problem then maybe I could see surrendering becoming a normal thing, but… for now it’s not necessary.

Edit: Previous reply was more hostile than I wanted. What I was trying to say is that I vehemently agree with this user.

But how do we fix when someone does leave the game? I never thought the “if you leave too, you’ll receive a loss” warning made sense when you’re going to lose the game anyway, especially now with the dps passive, and it’s not your fault. The game was completely winnable but someone left and now it’s not.
That being said I don’t think you can just surrender any match.

There’s never a world where it makes sense to finish a game 4v5 just because there’s a middling chance that you might win the game… somehow. That’s why they give you the option to leave when their leaver timer runs out.

That’s the “casual” rock bottom
