In the last 3 games of comp I’ve played, 9 out of the 36 players were cheating.
There appears to have been a major increase in cheaters recently, and everybody in the lobby is reporting them yet I haven’t logged on to a ‘we have taken action’ screen in weeks.
What is being done to combat cheating right now? 4K+ is becoming unplayable with the number of Hanzo and Ashe’s on fresh accounts blatantly hacking.
Recent examples of very blatant cheating on accounts that have not been banned yet. Most of these are from masters games as I have pretty much stopped playing on my main role (4.2 tank) for now due to having half my games ruined by cheaters:
41DVKB - Headshaver
143X0Q - Flytone (and possibly more players but he was only extremely blatant one)
VVQ2SC - Ball, Maryam, SOS, Soon, (nomore was not cheating but was stacked with them)
this has been an issue for multiple seasons, go to seasons 19 and 20 and the dps leaderboards and look at how many accounts are banned off the list.

In my opinion, the only update this game needs is better anti-cheat. Competitive integrity should take far more priority than new additions to the game
Ok, its pretty hard to spot cheaters in the upper ranks as there is not many of them and most of them are not very obvious.
At the start, some very suspect headshots. He seems to be tracking through the bridge/wall. ESP/Wallhack maybe.
1:25-ish suspect tracking when he died to the Zarya. Nothing too much to go off of.
3:15 very sketchy Headshot kill on Genji. The arrow literally curved outside the crosshair to him.
Its honestly really hard to tell if this Hanzo is or is not cheating in some fashion.
I have seen more blatant and obvious cheaters in Silver where my Tank Role is at unfortunately.
I am on the Fence 50/50 with this one. He has awareness of a high Plat / low diamond, shoots like a high masters, but the ticker for me is that it feels toggled at some points. His aim style changes when he is getting the obscure shots or when he is in a close quarts pinch.
Only thing suspect out of all that would be the firing multiple shots at the ground or nearby walls. That is a tactic used by aimbotters to reduce accuracy. This player looks legit to me, just high sensitivity, good reflexes. I noticed nothing for triggers indicating an aimbot variant or tracking hack.
The Doomfist / Tracer - Not a chance they were hacking, missed a lot of shots as Tracer, no tracking what so ever. As Doomfist, they had perfected the wombo-combo in a really good annoying way.
The Hanzo - its possible he may be tracking, though not much to actually, so i dont think he is. a few times he pointless shot arrows at a wall. as what i said above its an indicator of accuracy reduction. He seems very legit, Master Quality at least.
The Ana - Without a doubt, from the start of the match, they are using a tracking / predictive aimbot. I had to slow it down to 0.25x speed to confirm.
0:48-0:57 Firing at the Hanzo, they shot the sleep dart above the hanzo BEFORE he jumped, ultimately missed. Then She snapped up to where the grav orb from orisa was activated BEFORE it got there fired regular shots at hanzo ahead of time again.
1:13 - 0.25x speed you can verify the Ana Locks onto Orisa and you can see it soft recoil bounce inside her hitbox and keep hardlocking for a brief second onto the same pixel about 3 or 4 times. Definitely a softlock, as its easy to break aim with those to avoid suspicion.
2:02 - I was wondering if her soft-tracking bot was friendly, seems that it is, she locks onto her Doomfist teammate.
2:35 - pretty clear they ramped up the sensitivity as she was pretty blatant on the target locking and injured friendly locking. Tracked 2 enemies very bot like, and the auto lock on friendly couldnt have been more obvious.
Out of all that, the only one I can say that was definitely cheating was the Ana for sure. In the beginning of that last replay, it wasnt that obvious unless you slowed it down to watch her tracking. But after taking the first point and her couple deaths, she definitely adjusted the sensitivity of the aimbot to be more active and noticeable.
I can’t tell if you’re taking the piss or not with your responses here. The examples I have given are blatant cheating. If you want me to sit down with you and go through every vod and explain why then feel free to add me.
Y’all are worlds different in SR, why would you listen to him? I have GM and T500 friends who literally have to walk through the VODs with me to explain it… They’re usually VERY subtle to inexperienced players…
Thanks, didn’t actually realise they were silver-plats until then. Hacking in masters+ is usually quite difficult for lower ranked players to even realise without it being ragehacks.
I mean… I’m only plat… As far as I’m concerned it almost seems like all GM widow mains hack because of how great they honestly are.
That said, having played with smurfs playing against hackers, the way you can tell the honest difference is the positioning and rhythm…
Hackers always make positioning mistakes and get beat out but instantly drop high ranked players in average 1v1s that should be in the GM players favor due to experience.
It is blatant cheating for you but I dont see it. I am not saying that you are wrong, I just gave you my opinion. Trio in your third replay code was cheating and I reported the replay with their names in description. I cant do the same for first and second replay because I am not sure. If you are able to tell few moments where it is obvious, I will check it and maybe learn something.
I play in Masters and i had a hacking zarya on hanamura and a hacking ash on volskaya recently (zarya very very blatant locking on to people i watched replay)
