Support mains, as a DPS player I love you guys! I am kind of introverted though and need to know how to politely ask for more damage when we have plenty of heals. To be clear it wouldn’t even requiring a swap half the time – just prioritizing securing elims. Any recommendations?
“Stop healbotting”, always works
I would just enjoy the fact that you’re doing well and keep a good thing going. Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
Just think it to yourself
I don’t have good advice. People don’t often take kindly to suggestions.
If we’re running Mei, Soldier, Hog then they can heal themselves pretty well. I’d rather have the extra damage, but don’t want to come off as a jerk.
That’s about it right there donler. Community made it clear in ow1 everything is toxic no matter how not toxic it was, but you could reliably exist without account actions anyway.
With ow2 though? Yeah not worth losing your account over. Say nothing, assume no one will be useful and you’re on ypur own. That’s ow2
You better not do that.
It is like straight out admitting that you are bad at your role if going to ask non dps roles to dps for you.
The short answer is dont. If you want to coordinate and make suggestions, play in a group with people you know want to play like that.
You could say “hey [support], if you wanna go something with more damage, you can do that if you feel like it. We’re sorta self-sustaining a bit”
“We’re good on healing at the moment, (support). Right now we need damage more than we need heals, could you help us out by laying down cover fire?”
Tell them they’re trash without specifying why. People love to be called trash; it always motivates them to play better.
(SombrasFeet9 and Silawatsi have great suggestions.)
“switch to moira you bot”
“Stop throwing and get off Mercy Lifeweaver”
If you’re in a good mood
“Can you go Zen”
“Can we grab a Zen or Illari or something? We’re pretty light on damage”.
I always like ppl say “We might be low in DPS” before the game starts. That means “we need supports to do dmg too” so I would prolly switch to a dps oriented support and have fun rampaging.
The bigger problem by a longshot is too much damage out of support. Maybe 1 in 20 matches I’m thinking… yea we don’t need two main healers.
Just because both supports are pumping out huge healing, doesn’t mean more damage is needed. The enemy team is allowed to be good, but also sometimes the dps just isn’t closing the deal and it’s them that needs to swap.
Don’t be nice. People don’t like that.
you have an interesting post history.
Do you play this game once in 2 months ?
“Lets all attack together!”
“Im all healed, lets attack!”
I’d check a profile and not suggest anything if they’re nearly a one trick. Like 80%+ one hero, I’ll just let them do whatever unbothered.
