Convince me otherwise.
There’s no way one can carry a game playing support. You can win games by being a good tank or a good DPS. Winning a game as a support, though? Unless your teammates aren’t somewhat decent, you ain’t standing no chance.
No matter who one picks to help the team comp as much as they can, they as a support are completely dependent on their teammates.
GIVE SUPPORTS MORE NON-HEALING POWER
They really need it now more than ever with role queue.

What’s going to be more valuable out of a support than healing though?

Really. When i have 40/55 team damage taken/healed as a support i like to think i did carry the game by making sure everybody else was up to do their job.

Other utility/their own damage
Zenyatta, Baptiste and Ana can carry pretty hard if you’re mechanically gifted.
The others are more about specifically enabling team members.

You can have a lot of effect as support.
Call your discord orbs and prioritize the right discord targets so the enemy team dies faster than yours.
Boop that enemy Rein or Doomfist away from the teammate they were attempting to squish. Sometimes off a cliff.
Nano that Genji that would have otherwise been flattened when he popped blade.
Lucio and Zen have some of the most powerful team saving ults.
Rez that tank stopping your enemy from being able to push.
Drop that immortality field saving your teammates from that Junkrat tire.
Damage boost that Hog sealing the fate of whoever he hooked. Or Widow or Ashe turning even their bodyshots in to power houses.
Anti heal the enemy tank. Sleep an ulting enemy.
There are lots of things you can do as a support to have a major effect on your games.

As much as I appreciate your helpful tips I already know about, I didn’t come here for tips.
I came here to say most of the support category can’t do anything to turn the game around, unlike other roles in the game.

Healing is one of the most powerful survival utilities in the game, you just revert damage already done. A support has to be balanced about the damage utility and survival utility that he/she can provide. He/She can’t be too much good at both.
Unfortunately that’s maybe why supports have the smallest carry potential.

A buff would only make it more apparent that you’re the Problem.

Perhaps a power shift from healing to utility? I didn’t come to ask for buffs. I came to ask for a change.
I wasn’t really giving tips so much as examples as how you can have an effect on the game.

Helping your team doesn’t save them from their own incompetence.
Your real options are shutting down the enemy carry or pocketing the one competent player on your team if you can find one.

What kind of utility? Damage utility? Supports should do less healing to get more damage output?
That. Exactly that…
It’s a shooter game after all.

Yeah, but it has its MOBA elements… I don’t know if this could happen, what would happen with less healing and more damage?
Death rates overall increased?

Supports would be actual heroes of their own instead of the TF2 medic pockets/enablers kinds of support…?
I see where you want to get at, but unfortunately DPS heroes are very damage dedicated and only have self supportive abilities, it would be nice if all heroes where more hybrids with team supportive abilities, so no problems for supports having more damage because DPS could also heal a little or mitigate damage too, you know?

People need to get over their BS “carry” mentality
This isn’t a moba with designed hard carries and stuff this is a team game that’s heavily reliant on your team working toghter
The only thing carrying proves is that your not playing at your rank

The nature of Support means that in any game, you’re going to be dependent on your allies, Supports are a multiplying factor, which is why they’re so valuable.

I just want to have some individualism of my own instead of leeching off of my teammates.
I have around 600-700 hours on all supports combined and with each healing buff, it feels like supports are losing their powers just to healing… I’m losing interest in playing support because of that.
What I want to say is that supports should not be completely team dependent.
