Well… i have something unique people will want to hear and this is my own Support Observation and it’s not what you expect!!! Things may go Topsy Turvy after you read this aaaand…
Supports are the New Tanks of Overwatch!! - Wait… WHAT! -

Yes they are. They are the new Tanks and here is my unusual perspective i’ve noticed with alotta of the new character releases.
First… We need an example, like Mauga as one. He is a Tank but is really designed as just a big DPS Character and now we need a support example of someone who is good at keeping people alive… AHA! Lifeweaver is a great example so you can understand the Topsy Turvy of OW.
As Mauga as our example is just a fatter DPS and doesn’t really focus on ‘‘Protecting’’ Teammates some Supports such as our Lifeweaver as an example have had to gain a lot more ‘‘Healing Sustain’’ to do the job of the Tank and Keep People Alive!

Now, this isn’t about 6v6 or anything, just one part of the Topsy Turvy.
Back in OW 1 of course, we had Two Tanks and their goal was to not just damage but to Also Protect Teammates by being in the way of Damage and now that Tanks are Big DPS with our Example Hero and now that we are in a 5V5 State with the Big DPS, Tanks are no longer our Protectors and have become our Assault Options instead.
Soooo… The Devs had to come up with a Solution for Tanks and Protecting People since people just standing around and soaking up damage might seem boring for Tank Gameplay so they made them into Giant DPS But there was a problem… Who will really TANK for OW…?
That’s likely when the had a good idea to Compensate for that and that is… Healing and Healing Sustain! Notice how our Example Support can output a lotta Healing to keep Things Alive while our Example Tank doesn’t really ‘‘Tank’’ But moreso uses his bigger stats to push forward and make space for his team. Hence why our Tanks have instead become Assaults and our Supports have almost become the new Tanks in their own way to ‘‘Keep People Tanky With Healing’’ So Teammates are Protected LIKE a Tank by keeping your Team alive THROUGH Sustained Healing instead of through the old Big Stats and Barriers like the old ones.
Hence why I said things have gone Topsy Turvy as the Roles have almost flipped on their heads now with their being so many well… ‘‘Less Teamwork Tanks’’ of course VERY literally and just as an example and more ‘‘Teamwork Essential Supports’’ to pick up the pace and do what Tanks sorta used to do but in a unique way.

Heheh, it’s almost like we now have as I say from my own view on things…
1 Assault / 2 Damage / 2 Support - Tanks Via Healing

I know it sounds Bonkers and downright bizarre to ever call Supports the new Tanks but from my own perspective, they have almost taken up the Mantle, just without the bigger bodies and huge stats or barriers to go with it.
I do wanna hear your perspectives anyways since this might be the strangest discussion yet…!
