The total health pool of the game has decreased so you need less healing that’s it
Too much effective healing is an issue and always has been before role lock 3 tank 3 support was not uncommon because when over time too much AOE healing was added to the game and if you could sustain 3 tanks with AOE you would. Its why all triple tank comps were Zen, Lucio, Brig or Zen, Lucio, Bap because supports like mercy become less valuable when there is more AOE effective healing in the game.
Support healing was never adapted properly to the fact their is only 1 tank now.
Edit- Modern supports should be built around dmg like Illari look at all the best 4 right now

- Reduce Bap’s damage by 1
- Reduce anti heal to 75%
Then I guarantee you the vast majority of complaints will disappear. Y’all just want the whole role to be nerfed into oblivion.

Actually you know what, let’s simplify this down further.
You can balance between to equalize their Popularity.
Or you can balance between to equalize their Impact.
People who insist only on Equalizing Impact, are directly rejecting Equalizing Popularity
And rejecting Equalizing Popularity, is demanding that the devs deliberately screw up Queue/Matchmaker quality to a large degree. On purpose.

Alot of things didnt addapt to getting 1 tank.
Heroes that to better agaist 1 tank like, bastion, sym, reaper, echo, all got intirectly buffed when going to 1 tank.
Alot of stuff needed to be done/changed that didnt

Also all AoE healing is WAY lower than it was in OW1 as well like I said? Bap, Brig, Moira have all had their AoE healing numbers reduced from what it used to be
Also Illari is one of the worst supports even after he few consistency buffs?
The best supports atm are Ana, Mercy, Lucio, Brig, Zen, Bap, and Kiriko; Far more healthy selection than what we’ve had in the past of OW1/ earlier OW2 seasons.
Moira and Lifeweaver are pretty mediocre, and Illari is at the bottom

And they’ll be toned down with the new passive. It’s really hard to say until we get the season 9 patch notes.
Nothing is going to change until then, so people need to quit having toddler tantrums over the whole issue. It’s obnoxious and annoying.

The passive shouldn’t exist at all. It removes certain decision making, like supports not needing to use abilities on themselves, they’ll just heal from the passive instead.
Anti is still too strong. Sleep is still too strong. Damn near everything about kiriko is broken. Bap is still too strong. Discord should be reworked so zen isn’t just some glass cannon who’s just infuriating to play against as tank specifically. damage boosts shouldn’t exist at all, outside of ultimates (like orisa’s ult in ow1). pylon holds illari back, lifeweaver’s entire design is a mess filled with (once again) infuriating elements, brig makes even attempting to kill another support a borderline impossible task.

Completely untrue. I already told you specifically, no one wants nor cares to see support completely in the dust. The problem is that 99% of the role completely outclasses the other heroes in the game. No it isn’t just bap and ana.
Which is why I’m sick of the witch hunting. It needs to stop.

“Witch hunting” oh please. The role is BROKEN. Like oh my god. Support has been broken for a very very long time. This has been an issue, for a very very long time. This isn’t some new witch hunting experience. This has BEEN a problem.
That is an exaggeration, and you know it. Stop gaslighting the whole role.
No, it wasn’t weak at all. I thought it was insanely strong even in beta, but I think I just got lucky that 5v5 happened to cater to my particular support playstyle (DPS brain for life).
Many players were struggling to adapt to the new format, and Blizz couldn’t exactly afford to just say, “Screw you. Git gud.” At the end of the day, they have to make customers happy for the sake of queue times. My fear was that they were going to creep sustain for short-term benefit with no consideration of the long-term impact.

Replaced supports with damage see how the opening argument still works that’s because it’s two paragraph of wasted text a lot of words that say nothing provide no context on how they are broken or what should be done to fix just complaining.

The other ones need touching up. It’s not just bap and ana. If you unironically believe even kiriko is balanced, you are actually delusional.
