At this point, this has to be intentional right? Support Solo queue just feels like I’m a seat filler for casuals/trolls. I got diamond dps, pretty much without even trying, good teammates all around for all my matches even jumped from p5 to d5 in one card. I only have 480hrs am I missing something or has it always been this way? Ive been trying to get into this game more, i really enjoy support and wanna play in higher ranked games but the people I get matched with on my team as support just dont ever give a damn. LFGs provide the same matchmaking experience as ow does atp for me. I feel like theres some sort of casino like algorithm, enough wins to make you think youre gonna progress and keep playing but more loses to keep you in low elo to fill seats.

99% of the playerbase is in gold to bronze.
With the support roll being a dumpster fire, Blizzard keeps most supports in those ranks on purpose because they need the DPS kids happy so they spend money on their skins.
If all the great Supports suddenly ranked out of those ranks, riots would follow.
Its also why Supports are still given the lowest amount of MMR per win while taking larger MMR hits for losses ontop of loss MMR for deaths which on some occasions just can’t be avoided.
Just quit Comp in this game as a support. If you are already past Plat you good. Everyone else is just gunna burn out and leave.
I main support and while I do feel like in general the match maker is garbage across all roles / ranks I don’t feel that it is especially so with support… IMO 50% of your games will feel balanced /ok, the other 50% will be just like you described… a total sh*t show and landslide for one team or the other regardless of how well you play.

Ill just echo what he said.
Over 2k comp games in ow2, with most on support i feel like you more likely to get lower tier dps because you’re required to fill the demand in lower ranks.
Its really rare to get a dps whos consistent that you can rely on.
It makes me really angry and tilted in games watching players button bash and hope for kills.
