Support skill expression

so where is it now that supports are forced to play even more passive and reactive? at this point supports cannot afford to take risks or make plays because death is so easy and inescapable if you stray even a few steps from the core of your team? i just don’t know why we nerfed half of the support roster, like they were all problematic top tiers in the first place? hanson can 1 shot them now, literally ANY dive character has easy pickings now, any dive tank has EASIER pickings, yet supports got what exactly? why does blizzard want to skew people from playing support so bad??

It’s not that big of a deal it was 25 HP. I hate when people are hyperbolic

Against non-dive heroes you’re sort of correct, even there though you die to spam/random shots a lot more with 225 HPs. Versus Winston, D.Va, Sombra, and Tracer the 25 HPs makes a big difference.

Juno is literally a free kill for dive heroes with 225 HPs. She was already weak to dive on the trial weekend with 250 HPs and more damage.

The hit point changes were poorly thought out and seem to have been handed out arbitrarily. They should revert them and try something different.

This is the stuff I don’t take seriously

You can take it seriously or not… Juno dies nearly instantly to Sombra and Tracer in 1v1 scenarios and its a fast death that leaves your teammates little time to help you.

Juno cannot kill them with her low damage and no headshots so they can fully commit to killing you with no fear of dying themselves. She also has no self healing.

Try it yourself in game.

25hp was the difference between Cass being meta or not. 250 was an important break point because it turned a lot of 3 shots into 4 shots. 225 does not have those same break points so now you can die to most of the same things you would have died to before the health increase, but bullet sizes are still bigger across the board so it makes the experience of playing them worse.

I did. I throw down a speed ring, and boost through it to my team for heals or high ground safety.

Idk which patch you play on where Juno literally dies instantly :person_shrugging:

25 hp is the difference between getting 1 shot or 2 shot as a support, now most the supports who were hit can be 1 shot just like the Hanzo mains wanted.

Tanks are too buffed for me to play support

lmao then you CLEARLY play in lower ranks. because even a half decent somber or tracer will gut you like a fish.

i do like when supports where overpowered and im a dps player. before the season 9 buffs and dps had no heal passive only support. made them real duel monsters but i was ok with that since dps has burst or its more of a team game than individual dueling.

i didnt even have sombra virus for a while and yea i didnt mind a support out-dueling me. once virus came it helped out then yea the dps healing passive and better bullet/projectile hitboxes. sombra is a support killer compared to before the season 9 buffs/virus change. i mean she could do it before but not as effectively, had to have the right opportunity but she is an opportunist

Idk i kited dive around like crazy with good cd and map use. Keeping a tank and dps busy for 8+ seconds is a win for your team imo.

Unkillable supports are worse for the game than the opposite. It should be a viable strategy to eliminate them first. It creates more back and forth momentum and makes other three players care about not losing supports.

My conspiracy theory is that they are trying to slightly reduce support player population and create an incentive to play tank so that those more team oriented players change roles which will more or less be healthy for everyone playing the game.

Dps are the prpbpem.

Many of their kits need to change. As much as the devs want to preserve these heros they ultimately make the game worse.

I’ve been struggling to find a good balance playing Zen & Ana during this patch. It’s a growing pain. Our role on Support overall isn’t bad. We just have to adjust to the challenges we face.

So can we hold off on saying we’re useless or bad or anything in that direction of conversation?

This is looking too similar to the start of OW2. Take your lumps, learn to improve and understand what needs to be done to be successful.

225 HP and DPS passive… Getting dove(?) dived(?), there is no time to react anymore

Its not that suppprts are useless, I feel as if players are purposely just throwing.

Like legit I get it. You’re upset and well deserved too.

But Jesus man. Was it the hero or you shining through every one of your plays if a flat 25 is drastic enough to make it that much more difficult?

Its 25 less health.

Honestly dude.

Supports haven’t even been dropped dpwn to their original OW1 power levels yet.

Like wow. If this is what you claim off just a measly 25 point change…then wow. You really need to reevaluate yourself in this game.

If 25 HP is so meaningless then let’s just revert this no? In fact let’s add another 25 hp since it’s so small. You definitely won’t cry against a 275 hp kiriko
