You know how Moira and Illari say “I can’t heal you yet” basically? Because they ran out of fuel?
Please give ALL supports who rely on some kind of ammo for healing an audible “Reloading” voice line. Please. So people don’t yell at us when they die because I ran out of flower petals to throw.

Also, a very audible “you’re not in range” or “you’re not in line of sight” for applicable heroes… This would definitely definitely help players understand why they’re not being healed.

No kidding, that would also help. Spamming “Fall back” and “come to me for healing” is not enough for some people to understand. ;w;

This could play automatically if the person in question uses the “i need healing/help” call out.
Just a voice line that states a “i’m reloading”, “you’re out of range”, “i can’t see you” if a los is blocked to the support or if they’re reloading (enemy shields count as not being in los for applicable heroes).
It would certainly help with the teammates playing in narnia and spamming the “i need healing” and getting salty in chat, if they kept getting an “you’re too far away”, “i can’t reach you” or “i can’t see you” automatically in response from the support voice actor.
And if a support is within 40 meters of the spawn door (or still respawning) an automatic “i’m respawning” line could be useful for the healing requester. Another one is if there’s an enemy player within 25 meters of the support or if the support has taken damage within 1 second before the call out was used there was a loud “i’m being attacked” for the user of the voiceline. No need to crowd anyone else’s ears, just the voiceline user.
Some of these might be disruptive, but if some of this was used or at least if these would be automatic voicelines if the “acknowledged” line was used within 1,5 seconds of the healing request. It would probably help a little.
(In the same way that the “group up” line turns into “i’m with you” when aimed at an ally)

Supports already do have that.
Its just that with all the sfx, pinging, and action happening, it often either gets drowned out or the audio cue doesnt get priority to everything else happening, and gets silenced in deference to other stuff going on.
But if you pay attention, the audio cue for reloading is there already for supports.

No, we do not have any* voice line that says “I’m reloading”.
It’s literally only on the two I mentioned: Moira and Illari.

When I duo with one of my few remaining OW friends, they like me playing Granny so they can Winston.
The number of times I say to them “Eyes off” cause they run (or leap) out of my LoS is tiring. An automatically generated audio cue for them would be nice

Out of topic here, but whenever anyone writes “I’m reloading” i read it in a random L4D voice, somehow usually Bill’s or Francis’, sometimes Coach’s

Wrong. They do. Weaver has it, any support who reloadable ammo has it.
1: It only cues when the hero is completely out of ammo. Manually reloading does not trigger the audio cue.
2: The reloading audio cue has very low priority. If virtually anything else is going on, those audio cues will take precedent, and bury the reloading cue.
Those 2 above reasons are why you think there isn’t audio cues for reloading. But theyre there alright.

As someone who has played him for 200+ hours, I literally have never ever heard it. I’ve played Illari and Moira very little and have heard them say it significantly more. So, “if” they do exist, they should be more precedent. The very fact that so few people know that other heroes have them means that it’s such a rare voice line that it needs to trigger more often.
(They’re so rare that they’re also not even mentioned on the wiki??)
And the other voice lines mentioned should be added. “I can’t see you.” or “You’re too far”.

They do. I have. It is rare, for sure.
Here’s the thing: if you actually run out of ammo before you can manually reload, youre probably in a teamfight with lots of stuff going on. Virtually all of the weapon/ability noises, pinging, voice lines, ult lines, etc either drown it out or stop the cue from happening altogether.
Having higher precedent is tough. There’s a thousand and one sounds happening during teamfights. I don’t know if reloading is ever going to be higher up on the totem pole of priority. Tough.
That’s why i mentioned the reloading line playing louder to the person who requests the healing and only when they request the healing. Because that’s the only person who needs to know that you are reloading at that moment.

Fair. Thatd be fine, sounds like a nightmare to code though
Counterpoint: in the situations where this really matters (Comp, prolly high elo comp) can always just use VC.
If its metal ranks or UR, I’m not sure its really worth it. The good players shouldnt expect squat from their teammates anyway, and the obtuse complainers can bugger off
It could be tied to the “acknowledge” line. Like when looking at a teammate and using “group up” you instead say “i’m with you”.
It could just be tied to the “i need healing” instead and take into accoubt if you’re dead or reloading on top of someone using “i need healing”.
Because no one wastes time spamming a voiceline if they are actually capable of the said healing.
It wouldn’t make it automatic, but would still make it easier to communicate that you physically can’t heal them at the moment.

Not everyone has a headset nor the social ability to use the voice chat.
That’s probably why they made the voice tags in the first place.

One of the reasons I want a team frames UI in normal play is that they can put stuff like a reloading indicator under each teammate’s frame.

And one wouldn’t need to tab to scoreboard to see teammate ult charges with that either.
Far few people actually let the team know their ult charges during a match.

I always give a heads up nano is ready!
Anyone else ever been nano’d by complete surprise and gotten zero value from it? Good times

Fair. Very valid point.
But if youre taking the game this seriously, it begs the question why you wouldnt do what you could whilst wanting Blizz to just make accommodations for you.
Need a minimap ping feature…
When they’re out of range, they request healing, it should ping on a minimap where you are.
Allies should show up as color coded dots, enemies (when visible via abilities or in view of a character) should also show up. Would solve lots of problems, and we know the tech is already there from the esports maps they show with all the player locations from the top down view.
