Support problem

Well i like play support, but most of a time enemy team DVA will dive into me and kill me, meanwhile my teammates ignoring it. How do i deal with this ? Should i just start play Dps ? I play open queuee so it’s an opinion.

If you want to stick to support and keep getting dived.
Moira has good mobility.
Kiri can teleport to her team when dived.
Baptiste has good survivability with his abilities.
Lucio can work on some maps if you’re good enough with his movement and utility.

Ana can manage, but it’s very difficult to time her abilities right with dva, as she can just eat everything. So i don’t really recommend her.

Kiriko can survive the most. Stay close to your team and save Susu for yourself. If your team is keeping you alive. Then save Susu for the team.

protect yourself at all times, run away…let your dumb team die.
save yourself. what i do in those cases.

It’s better than standing there and taking it.

Something will always be unbalanced in Overwatch. Either accept it. Or quit the game.

you switch to something that can either;

buy you the time it takes for your team to notice

something you can consistently defend yourself with

or that can get away reliably

Personally, I would go Brig. I’m not sure how much of that is actually the matchup, and what’s just me being so comfortable playing her, but–

  • Brig’s weapon completely bypasses D.Va’s DM, meaning easy damage and whips to proc Inspire. I’m fairly certain that Brig’s Repair Packs also ignore DM. D.Va cannot stop all of Brig’s healing, unlike a lot of other supports
  • The armor changes mean D.Va’s weapon got nerfed against Brig’s armor. At the same time, it also means Brig’s weapon against D.Va’s armor was buffed
  • Having a personal barrier means you’re very safe from any surprise nukes, and can survive Micro Missiles a bit easier with proper management
  • While you’re focused on fighting back, you’re still providing heals for your team thanks to Inspire
  • With Rally, you can stun D.Va, interrupt her DM, and make her even more vulnerable. The increased shield size might even allow you to provide a little team protection against her ult

D.Va might be my favorite enemy tank as Brig, honestly

lol, yeah, Brig can bully D.va.

You can go Ana and do mind games with her DM. Don’t use sleep unless shes not looking or if she is low on DM or if you are 1 HP. Save your nade for a last resort to heal yourself and run away. Don’t try to kill the D.Va unless you are sure your team is ready to help you.

Most Anas in my rank will panic and use their sleep too early if you dive them so if you don’t they will probably think you don’t have it and drop DM. Don’t just stand there though you have to look scared or they won’t fall for it. If you do this a few times the D.Va will get annoyed and either respect you more and leave you alone or take it personally and hard focus you even more.

If its the latter then just play farther back and make her go way out of position to dive you like those annoying GM’s always do. If they start sending a Tracer or something else after you then yeah prolly time to switch unless you’re one of those crazy unkillable Anas.

you use voice comms and ask your team to help you. If they dont are they are not in team chat then report them as they are greifing

Tanks aren’t yo-yos and support don’t prioritize space problem solved. You also got to come to terms with people don’t know to play other heros, capitalize top, or even be a savior to backline. I always tried to talk it through and they just don’t talk or have resentful opinions even sometimes without the excuse. I just find it sad that people can get away with oppression on a deep level

Wait a minute… Did you just say that people who aren’t in voice are griefing and you report them?

This is the person who had an entire thread calling people out from not playing the heroes they deemed appropriate… So it doesn’t surprise me.

should they not be reported. Its giving the other team an advantage thus its throwing.

if your team isn’t helping you then yea, you gotta be selfish.

which turns in to a terrible cycle and losses. Teamwork is needed in this game. Communication is needed. If people refuse they are giving the other team an advantage. That is by definition throwing. There is a social contract when you choose to play competitive. This is will completely fall back on to Blizzard for their lack of action which encourages people to not play like a team and not help their teammates.

i agree.

i have had situations when enemy dive tank is diving me (i only play supp so, obviously they would dive me) and i kept on asking for help over voice and chat… but no one came to my aid… i still healed though but focused more on surviving.

You have 3 options;

  1. Communicate with your team. Tell them you are getting dived (if it wasn’t obvious already) and ask for their help. Once you get the usual trashtalk, respond with “No peeling = no healing”.
  2. Swap to Moira.
  3. Potentially swap hero, but play up your tank’s and team’s bottom. Insert yourself up Reinhardt’s bottom. This will make diving you more of an issue.

Unfortunately, most of time, none of these will work except number 2. Mainly due to team composition/teamplay/skill issue.

You will need a disproportionate amount of courage and politeness to accomplish number 1, but it is potentially possible.
