Tank role is only miserable because supports refuse to watch countless tutorials and guides (all officially posted by Blizzard) that states that BOTH supports should be focusing ONLY the tank. Damage isn’t supposed to get a drop of heals, health packs are for them. Literally there’s a DPS named Sombra who has this as a recorded stat.
Keep up only the tank, let the DPS die. They aren’t needed. GOATS proved that tanks are more important than damage.
You may be the only thing that makes me glad that tanks are in such a miserable state. Enjoy having 0 fun

I tend to have no problem whatsoever with my supports when I play tank
The actual reason why I haven’t been playing much tank lately is because I get so many matches where it feels like my random DPS have no offensive presence at all. 
I’m pushing in, I’m keeping the enemy DPS in check, and I’m surviving for a VERY long time. But it feels like if I can’t personally finish off a significant portion of the enemy team myself, the fight just never gets anywhere. And then once we’ve exhausted everything, my team starts dying and we lose
Actually, come to think of it, maybe this is connected somehow
And as for when I’m playing support, you can’t possibly expect me to let someone die when they’re right there and I could have easily saved them. That would just feel like I’m failing my team

It is very connected. Let the DPS die, they’ll eventually either tilt hard or learn how to adjust to the lack of heals. As they should. Your tank is more important.
Or perhaps if they got enough heals to survive, they would actually be able to help me out, get some final blows, and my tanking experience wouldn’t be so frustrating? Which is more what I was going for with my statement
No, all you would be doing is keeping them up to make more reckless decisions and miss more shots. Your tank is the most efficient killing machine on the field.
i dont even know where half the health packs are on most of the maps
Prime example. DPS don’t even know the map layout, more than likely don’t know how to flank and fall back correctly. Heal. The. Tank. Only.
Speaking as a frequent support… if you’re a bad tank or keep soloing the whole team I’m not going to focus on you. Team up, get the damage in, once you establish yourself as a valuable player I’ll give you more attention than the team as a whole. Until then, imma spread my love to the team and keep everyone running.

IDK, I’d like to put a little something called “trust” in my DPS. If the reason why they’re failing is just because they’re being neglected, then that’s not right. I know how to play around cover and survive, so it’s not like I’ll drop dead as soon as the supports look at someone else

No they are not your whole team is important my job as a support is to help everyone not just you (tanks) no one is most important
Nah, I know that it’s very possible to be independent as a DPS, and there are some that really thrive at it in particular
Just saying, sometimes things go awry. If a little bit of healing makes the difference between them living or dying in an important fight, then it would probably be a good idea to give them some
It usaly doesnt take much time to keep your dps up literally only have 200 hp i can pop 1 or 2 orb into them and they are back up usaly

while i dont agree that you should ignore your dps…i do tend to try and stick close to my tank, because i know they will be taking a lot of incoming fire…and while i may not always succeed, i do my best to try and make them succeed.
And what happens when sombra hacks the packs? You cant play around hp packs all the time
