It might boost your offrole (as part of the match making fix) so you can’t just neglect your offrole for a few seasons (since they had a crazy decay amount for a couple seasons) having the role essentially get auto deranked into a rank way lower than you belong in.
Edit:
I’ve noticed a similar offrole change. Such as the que times rising for the role you play most but que time is super short for your offroles. Maybe because it’s faster to get placement matches than it is for a role that has a fairly small SR range (which could happen with more games played).
Edit edit: Winrate is also relative. For example, if you go on a winsteak for 10 games (entirely possible when you’re placed too low) you could rank up twice, then your w/r will be 100%. As games get harder you could win more than you lose and still rank up, up until you start hitting around a 50% w/r (going on losing streaks at higher ranks).
But no, I don’t think support rank is inflated. I’ve been having a very similar experience on tank where i’m throwing my way(not like intentionally throwing) up the ladder on Junkerqueen.
It means on your tank games you are losing low ranked matches, whilst on your support you are winning high ranked games and failing in low ranked support ones. So your wins mattered more on support than your wins on Tank.
The thing many people can’t comprehend is that 50/50 is pretty much stagnation for a player. People who rapidly increase or decrease in rank will not have 50/50. A 52% is still a positive win rate and if you play enough games and maintain that you will get up there.
People mistake being stuck at 50/50 to mean Blizzard is against them when really it just means is the player plateau’d. They suck too much to climb and are too good to fall.
