Now before you attack me for no real reason, id like to discuss OW with it’s current damage buffs to some healers now i know support role is to help the team but helping isn’t always about damaging the enemy team I know there are some times where your team isn’t doing so good hell I’ve had that happen before but with the supports being the main dps it can be annoying having to wait for an hour to get healed now before you say there “health packs” or “spawn” you can go to you have to think about OW in it’s current state everyone is doing 500+ damage (bit much but pretty accurate) and you cant really afford one person down in a 5v5 fight you could in 6v6 but not current OW now i do know supports will try to heal you as fast as they can but its mainly the EGOS of most support that can be annoying because they just want to kill everything which is fun but not for dps who are squishy and don’t have a big need help sign on them I’m not sating to drop it down to 1 per bullet/shot but enough to where you don’t get shredded by a bap you just saw you and popped his ult because with support your main priorities are to help (heal) because not everyone has a get out of a fight free card like every support does plus the main reason for the extra damage is to use it when needed like moira her kit is based around healing hints why you get charges for using orb as well so im not looking to completely nerf damaging but it could be turned down some because a kiriko shouldn’t be able to two tap a mei/reaper and possible a bastion
I saw the karq video recently where someone said the dps role is cosmetic only which I found funny. Obviously it is hyperbole but support does enough dmg that it does kinda make dps feel less special.
All support heroes? Or just specific ones?

The dps orientated ones… Not saying they should lose all their dmg… but the main role is to heal. If its not to heal remove all healing outside health packs…
Or bring back 2 tanks to deal with all the dmg it there is now…

DPS support the team by damaging
Tank supports team by taking dmg…

I agree with a majority of the points in this post, however, instead of just straight up nerfing damage, I would rather have it transferred into abilities. This way Supports can still do damage, but are heavily punished for not using it well (via cooldowns). Not only does this stop random Kiriko’s from trying to duel the enemy DPS, but it also forces them to focus on supporting through other means (i.e. healing/managing cooldowns/using abilities for self-defense/stalling).
Not by healing, but by helping them!
It means also utility… That is why we have supports with low healing but high utility!

Nope… They whole shtick is healing… Yes they can support the team but their main job is the heal the team.
Like i said… a tanks main job is to take the dmg and disrupt… A dps job is to deal the dmg when the tank makes room and the “supports” job is to heal the damage

The support job is to support, not heal!
And you can support through many different methods. While one of those methods is healing (and some do this this way) but it is not the only one!
DPS mains want Supports to only follow and heal them and to be free kills.

1 main reason is because flankers exist and even landing one bullet on them and all there survival abilities has to be beneficial.
Overwatch is a game of nano seconds it’s such a game of nano seconds that even a hero like lifeweaver not doing damage is hard throwing.
I could only imagine as Baptiste if I was to shoot at a damage boosted pharah or a tracer or a genji and they just “Wouldn’t care” because regardless they have the neccesary hp to kill me.
It dosen’t matter if I leave them at “1hp” the Hell does that matter when Im dead? There just gonna go get healed.
If supports give dps that little room that y’all want to breath because of our high damage then all you’d be doing is shifting the game to a place where you just tag team and kill the supports all game playing dead by daylight.
It’s everyone’s job to do damage not just the dps people are confused on what the word support means.
If we nerf flankers ESPECIALLY genji and tracer and maybe lower burst damage (or for the love of god finally nerf pharamercy).
Then we can talk about nerfing supports in such a way, until then not happening y’all dps can still do something in a “weekend” state (and I say that losesly) even in a buffed state supports are still and will always be public enemy number 1.
So, people don’t want supports to do too much damage… don’t want supports to be boring healbots, and don’t want the utility (discord orb, suzu, bio made, etc.) to be too strong.
In your eyes, what are supports allowed to have? Catch: the role still has to be fun!

I think in mind of many damage mains being a punching bag and a free kill is fun!
Actually, I think Weaver is over tuned. It’s just that he’s so clunky and awkward to play that even with high stats he feels meh. But his raw numbers right now are actually too high.
