Ok, so far, I’m LOVING Sigma, he is pretty high skill-high reward, almost like the Ana of tanks, he stands between Orisa and Rein which allows some good dive but also staying at a safe distance. But I feel like a few details could be tweaked with him:
Experimental barrier: The shield itself is A-OK, decent HP, good regeneration speed (200hp/s if anyone is wondering), and fantastic range. However I feel like the shield could be deployed a wee bit faster. Taking as example Sym’s barrier, it went out immediatly when you cast it, but Sigma’s seens to take almost 0.5 seconds to come out, and that without including if the barrier is already out and the tiny amount of tim it takes to recall it is taken into account. And sometimes this can be fatal. The deployment of it could be a little more smooth, also the halting speed could have a more immediate response.
Accretion: This ability feels very balanced, but for a mid-range tank, I think the Distance+knockback/stun feels a bit reversed. If an enemy is too close to you, wouldn’t it be better if the Acretion did more knockback and stun the CLOSER you are to the enemy? Knocking an enemy and stunning for 30 seconds when he is almost over 30m away feels a little pointless when Sigma’s strenght lies on keeping himself 3-10m away to capitalize on his primary fire, Kinetic Grasp and barrier without having too much distance but also not allowing the enemy to invade his personal space. Considering it is harder to hit it at close range because of wind up time and such, it would feel more rewarding if Accretion’s values were reversed.
- That aside, I think Sigma could use a few voice lines:
“oh yes, we all float in here”
“Going up!”
“Need a lift?”
“What is… Darude Sandstorm?”
“Madness is like gravity, all you need is a little push”
“It’s relative, my friend”
“To be, or not to be…”
“Don’t step on my toes”
(when over Torb’s molten core) “argh, hot feet, hot feet!”
(when in cold maps like Volskaya and Nepal) “A pair of socks would come in handy now…”
(when in Oasis) “Aah, a center of science and unbound knowledge, feels like home”
- Interactions
“What fascinating piece of equipment you got there, care if I take a look?”
Zarya: Eyes are up here, pal.
Moira: Your brain activity seems to be stable, Dr. Kuiper.
“Hopefuly we won’t have any incidents this time.”
Reaper: Don’t flip on me this time, Sigma. (in this case, “flip” as going nuts)
“I make no such promises, Gabriel.”
“You seem to be quite adept at levitating, what is the technology behind it?”
Zenyatta: My spirit is unbound by the Iris.
Winstom: Your researches are being wasted by those Talon brutes.
“I would hardly call their collaboration a ‘waste’, kind sir.”
