Reworked Mass Resurrect is the only way to go. If they canât manage to implement a charge system to Resurrect on an E they have to bring it back as an ultimate again. Otherwise Mercy will be in this weird state for awhile.
They gave an answer to Eeveea already though. They said it would be too hard to implement a charging system as an E ability. So we need to move Resurrect back to an ultimate again if they canât do that.
I really wouldnât be coming for a streamer lol. Nobody understands that in High Tier games if you ever got caught hiding as Mercy a flanker would be on you in a heartbeat. People in high tier made it impossible to play âHide and Seek.â The video that Seagull showed to the world didnât have a Hide and Seek Mercy it had a Tempo Resurrecting Mercy that was really good.
So you mean she has to heal to get her rez. you know mercy 1.0? saying it in different terms wonât change the fact of what it is. everything else is ok.
Now if only the Devs were not so concerned with providing a âharder to executeâ UltimateâŚ
After all thatâs what makes something that is impactful balanced, but Iâm more saying that for others to hopefully understand. It sometimes seems Iâm talking to walls when it comes to this concept due to assumptions.
Look if youâre going to make Mercy earn the rez then let her earn a rez thatâs actually worth it and can be pulled off at pivitol times without requiring the babysitting of other characters to pull off.
Double that required charg and then make it instant.
Honestly, if these changes were to happen, I would go back to playing Mercy again. I was a Mercy main since season two, but I never found her rework to be as fun as her former state pre-rework. I feel like all of my time spent playing Mercy has been completely wasted because of how dramatically her kit was altered. She feels mind-numbing to play in her current state, but these changes would make her a lot more engaging to play. Very well thought-out job!
Yeah Ive been saying this forever, have the main beam do a bit more and the side ones do a bit less. Combine that with an earned res and a slightly reduced cast time during valk, and I think sheâd be perfect. No need to reduce the time in valk imo, or increase ult charge. Fix the flow first, then worry about any additional balance changes later
One of the mistakes they did when trying to nerf Mercy to bring balance was what they did on the final nerf. They sledgehammered it basically, multiple nerfs in one go, which Iâm sure was their way of getting away from Mercy for a long time so they could start working on other heroes again. Itâs just a shame they made a shoddy situation out of their re-work. You canât just apply multiple nerfs in one patch, that would be like taking away three items all at once from one side of a two sided weighing scale.
How theyâve handled the whole situation has been a bit of a disaster though, especially not listening to feedback on PTR before each of the changes went live.
Iâm wondering why this isnât in the megathread yet.
I doubt Eevee is getting special treatment because sheâs a streamer. Maybe they want to keep it separate because the Devs like the idea? Or maybe the mods havenât seen It yet (yeah right).
Amazing how this thread is not in the megadumpster yet.
Rez should be her ultimate again since they cant balance it as an ability. Make it charge step by step so Mercy gets one rez at 1500, the second at 1800 and so on. Give her valk as an E ability or something else entirely.
I saw a video of your play from back then. And in it, you on Mercy asked the other healer on Lucio if they could handle all the healing because Rez was up. And then you held back from the fight.
Maybe that was because of your eye-sight issues. I canât say. But play like that was held up as the epitome of âhide-and-rezâ.
And those of us at lower ranks were yelled at in game to play more like those at the higher ranks - we were yelled at to hide the second rez came up.
Look, I know weâre both trying to figure out something better than what the Devs gave us in this rework and its subsequent nerfs. Youâre coming at it from top-tier play where itâs practically your job. Iâm coming at it from low ranks where for me itâs relaxation; itâs entertainment; itâs supposed to be enjoyable and fun and not a chore.
Scroll back up, look at my idea as to how to fix her. Letâs see if the 2 ends of the spectrum can figure out a Mercy that feels balanced to both of us and fun for both of us.
Geoff did not say it would be too hard to implement, he said, regarding res being an earned non-ult single-target ability: i think its a bit too complicated, we've intentionally avoided doing stuff like that in the past - On my stream I have verbally repeated this quote, stating he said âit would be too complicatedâ. I do not believe I have ever said it would be hard to impliment, which is a much different issue at hand.
Which, personally, I think all these changes seem to be very simple to test if they wanted to, and wouldnât require any new assets to be created besides a new UI element for the res charge meter.
This something that I experienced. Iâm all to familiar with DMB on a DPS that gives me zero ticks such as a Tac Visor Soldier (thou that is something I began to use as a gauge to their worth to the team for Rez consideration).
I also learned after the nerfs that engaging with Valkyrie triggered the enemy team to use Ultimates so I stopped doing that because Valkyrie just doesnât standup to them. Valkyrie I found to be best used to save myself, or fly from spawn because Mercyâs basics and just being alive is all that has mattered most of the time.
Single point Rez is often RNG that isnât worth it (i.e. the person to be Rezzed just isnât worth bringing back sooner because the fight is either over or the fight goes on long enough for them to walk back from spawn). That is why I feel some see it as useless because that one teammate isnât really what will make a difference (especially considering why only they are dead).
I too come from a MOBA background where Ultimates have high impact but you donât get often while the lesser power abilities on lower cooldowns.
Right now it feels flipped on Mercy. I play as if Valkyrie and Rez were on the opposite keys and it works out much better that way in games.
Ok so if itâs âcomplicatedâ for Iâm guessing the player from reading what they wrote back to you, then maybe we need to just bring her Resurrect back to her ultimate again.
We all agree it needs to be earned again. No matter how well I play I canât do anything to change that CD itâs 30 seconds regardless of what I do. When I had it as an ultimate I was able to have it frequently up getting a lot more Resurrects in a game through Tempo Resurrects and it felt great to use.
I remember when people would tell me that I carried games with how well I played in high tier. Now I donât feel that special moment anymore and it sucks.
I just want Mercy to be in a better spot. Iâm down with Resurrect as a charged ability but if they wonât do it because it would be too complicated for the player we need it moved back to an ultimate. With added counterplay and Valkyrie as an ability that will provide Mercy with an engagement tool that can be used frequently without punishing the flow of her kit.
Are you referring to an anubis match? I am pretty sure you are, thatâs the case I remember saying that. I usually say that when I draw attention to my location to the enemy team before a fight on the left when I know they want to dive me, than tell my Lucio to cover for my absence while I literally go back through spawn and be on the right and then initiate with my team, but no, not wait for res. Simply waiting for them to dive the wrong side.
Exactly there was a difference between cutting your beam for 2-3 seconds while your team is being pelted by ultimates to not blow your cover so you wouldnât get dove on top of. To literally sitting in a boiler room with a sit emote waiting for your team to die so you can get a 5 Man Resurrect.
I learned a lot about Tempo Resurrecting from Eeveeaâs stream and I used it and climbed my way to the ranks I am now.
Sad how thatâs the stereotype we have to face day in and day out itâs so lame.
Indeed it needs to be earned, and in terms of gameplay clarity seems best suited as an Ultimate. As it stands Resurrect doesnât represent good playmaking; I find its just there despite its power it is not meaningful. If I die while Rezzing Iâll have it back by the time Iâm back from spawn in most cases, yet its a pain toward the mobility concept of Mercy, so I donât look forward to using.
I donât feel that moment now either and havenât throughout the Rework.
I sometimes wonder if Iâm making any difference in some games at least on an emotional level.
Seems the Resurrection Ultimate is more aligned to a better flowing kitâŚ
So whatâs your source? I have provided mine. Youâre here saying âNo it doesnâtâ without providing anything to back your claims. Please, provide a source for your numbers, unless that one source happens to be your rear end?
The first guide starts off with a section labeled âStoryâ which provides a background of Zenyattaâs lore. The second one is just a series of charts in which a CTRL+F for âstoryâ brings up nothing.
You didnât even glance at the links, and youâre clearly grasping at straws.
When the official Overwatch site does not provide numbers, one must resort to the next most reliable sources: third party websites. Itâs not like there are going to be any .gov or .edu sites that provide Overwatch stats. Besides, when so many sites are consistent with the same data, the reliability of those websites and the data within them increases.
I have provided six independent online sources backing my statement, and those were accomplished with only 2 Google searches. I can go dig out more sources if I need to by simply clicking on the next page of the Google search.
You, on the other hand, have yet to provide a source, probably because you do not have one.
Yes, it does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGXbVzkT2TA
Notice how none of Zenyattaâs teammates died until after Transcendence ended.
It is valid for other heroes, but it is especially valid for Mercy.
Did I? Youâre still here and I havenât seen you make a true statement yet.
Please, highlight where I contradicted myself.
Iâll wait.
Nah, I think you have no hope. You still have yet to cite any sources or reinforce your assertions with facts.
And thatâs where the reading comprehension comes in. 1 and 4 are totally different things. 1 is killing Mercy herself, as the ultimate cannot be used if Mercy is dead. 4 is putting spacial or chronological distance between the deaths of Mercyâs teammates.
Iâm acing them, actually. Thank you for your concern.
Mercyâs SR gains were never messed up until Season 5. Season 4 was my first season in GM, and I had been climbing consistently since season 3; you know, when Mercy was considered a âtroll-pickâ.
I donât know what Tekken is so whatever you say that follows is probably falling on deaf ears.
I didnât bring up my rank until you said that I must have a poor understanding of the game soâŚ
Youâre being hypocritical.
Still waiting on you to show me where Iâm contradicting myself.
Because they still stand. Thereâs no point in revising arguments if the other person has failed utterly at shooting them down or in some cases, understanding them.
Mercy doesnât need buffs⌠She needs a rework.
Now that Iâve waded through that, letâs revisit the irony behind this statement:
Failure to capitalize when starting a sentence.
There should be a comma after the first âdoesnâtâ.
âiâveâ should be capitalized to âIâveâ.
The âit really doesnâtâ at the end is pointless and redundant, and it is poorly attached to the rest of the sentence. There should either be a semicolon after ârecentlyâ or a period followed by the capitalization of âitâ after that same word.
There should be period at the end of the sentence.
The first word in the sentence is not capitalized.
This is one hilariously long run-on sentence. There should be a question mark after âlinksâ rather than a comma and âyouâ should be capitalized, there should be a period after âword for wordâ and âhavenâtâ should be capitalized, and there should be a question mark after âSourcesâ.
âwikipediaâ should be capitalized, as it is a proper noun.
âgamepediaâ should be capitalized, as it is a proper noun.
âliterallyâ was used in a non-literal context.
Continued lack of capitalization when beginning sentences.
Thereâs no punctuation after âitâsâ even though it is a paragraph of its own.
There should be a comma after âinstantâ.
âanaâ should be capitalized.
âpharahâsâ should be capitalized.
âsoldierâsâ should be capitalized.
âbastionsâ should be capitalized, and there should be an apostrophe before the âsâ.
There should be a period after âinsideâ, and âthanksâ should be capitalized.
Between âmy pointâ and âit doesnâtâ, there should be something to join those two clauses. âthatâ would work, a semicolon would work, or a period and capitalization would work.
There should be a direct object after âouthealâ, followed by a period.
Most of these errors repeat throughout your posts, but just to top it off:
Also doesnât know how to use âthereâ, âtheirâ, and âtheyâreâ. That âtheirâ should be âthereâ.
