Ive made the comment on places outside of the official forums and seen no one else make a similar suggestion so here it is.
What if
Souvenirs equipped on the emote slots, dropped as clutter upon being eliminated?
the link has images to illustrate the idea

No. Souvenirs were a mistake and don’t need to be validated as suitable cosmetics.

Souvenirs feel like they were meant to be a different thing altogether but the main feature they were meant for was never finished or the idea was dropped. My theory is that there was always meant to be a post-match MVP screen where top performers in the match would hold up their souvenir while being featured on this screen, basically like the card screen in OW1 but with the actual heroes appearing with their chosen souvenirs.

Pretty decent idea.
I think it would be better if once you finished displaying the souvenir (such as going back to “ready” mode), you drop the souvenir on the ground, similar to Ana’s “Beach Ball” emote.

Honestly… I don’t find it a good idea. indeed, it would only contribute to creating “visual filth” on the battlefield unnecessarily. can accidentally cover traps left by enemies.
and I agree with trilly: they were a feature presumably designed for an MVP screen, perhaps precisely in the phase of the cards they eliminated. today they are just contents to fill bundles with fake discounts.
“visual filth” can already be reduced with ingame graphic options, accidentally covering a junk or hog trap is possible with a player body as of now too, whats a few winton plushies flying off if they would despawn with the eliminated player anyways
Wrecking Ball and Bastion already work is such a fashion, they explode and they litter the area with machine parts
