Hey there!
My in-game sound suddenly became a lot lower. I usually turn my headset’s volume wheel only halfway up, but now I have to turn it all the way up and it still isn’t as loud as it usually is. This is not after any particular update, but completely random, happened mid-game and stayed that way.
I tried this solution by Raxr and it worked at first, but just now I opened the game and had no sound at all. Reverting Raxr’s solution solved that, whilst making the original low volume problem reappear. Individual app volumes are also not the issue, they’re all maxed out, as is the overall device volume. All the other forum posts are full of “I have this issue as well” and no answers, so I’m trying my luck here!
Thanks!
EDIT: I found a temporary solution:
- Open the sound Control Panel (Win10 1803: Right-Click speaker on Taskbar > Open Sound Settings > Sound Control Panel on the top right)
- Right-Click device > Properties
- Enhancements tab > check Disable all sound effects > uncheck it again
This makes Overwatch louder again, but as soon as you close the game again/restart the PC the sound will get lower and you’ll have to do this again.
