I experience sudden fps drops after (I think) the mid-season patch for season 16.
Everything was fine before, but now the game drops from 350+ fps to 30, then to 20, then sometimes to 5 fps! In rare cases, the game just completely freezes.
It happens randomly and in every mode. I opened the task manager and I saw that my GPU had no activity, but once the match ended (victory/defeat screen), everything was fine and it immediately went from 5fps to 300+ again.

It happens to me as well. They screwed something up. It happens to me when I die and the replay starts, and if Echo and I turn into a different hero, the fps drops to like 5-20fps, then after respawning and in the game for about a minute it goes back to normal framerate. Infuriating.
Mine is even worse. We are all on the same boat regarding sudden FPS drops.

I just wanted to chime in and say I have the DX12 (Beta) enabled. I’m going to try and go back to DX11.

Same issue here. I backfilled into the 6v6 match and the game was constantly dropping frames over the short period until it hit 10-12 frames and was moving like a slideshow, this lasted until the match was over. This is probably the buggiest patch/season launch this game ever had, probably all because of Stadium.

I don’t and I’m still having fps issues. Mine are always fluctuating between 250-320 when I used to get a stable 450 without issue. So, not as drastic as the issue you guys are having.
I’m getting massive fps loss too, even at start of game my fps is ~30fps lower than it used to be, and i get random fps spikes mid-game, even going down to 50-60fps at some points

Could be severs, could be hackers prob a mix of both as hackers can trick servers which can cause funky interactions, or.hiccups in the code.
I too have been having this issue since the season 17 update. horrible stuttering and sometimes the game just turns into a slideshow. very annoying and happens randomly. sometimes for entire matches, sometimes only starts midway through a match. very annoying considering ive never had this issue since even ow1

Mine happens every time I get backfilled. I’ll be fine for normal games, but my backfill games run me at 30 - 60 frames. It’s insanely frustrating.

Still getting FPS drops on this patch.
I used to get 144fps average or higher any resolution 2 months ago, now I’m getting 125 average with spikes on any resolution… there is no performance increase dropping down to low resolutions.
I currently have this issue where my game stays at a consistent 60-61 FPS then slowly drops to 18fps and its unplayable, been happening in 6v6 and 5v5 its like my game is being throttled because the FPS is so consistent and slowly drops.

I’ve been having this issue today. Usually I have 250+ fps. I noticed it was sitting between 150-250 fps so I did some troubleshooting, updated my graphics drivers, etc. Restarted my pc and tried again. Now it sits at 90-100 fps most of the game. Very strange.

Yes, this season I have been experiencing massive frame rate loss during the match BUT ONLY if I am backfill. It is like the match is not loading correctly if you are backfill. I normally run from 200-300 fps and have no issue in any game that starts from the whole map selection, hero selection screen. When I backfill however I experience this frame rate loss issue. I come into the mtch at maybe 60fps and ends in the teens at best… simply unplayable. And I know others are having this issue as I was just in a match with 2 folks that backfilled and both reported the same issue, massive frame rate loss.
I’m completely baffled that it blows my mind why they haven’t fixed this yet since the S17 came which has been a few weeks ago. Plus the constant of putting me into korean servers with high pings which is just horrendous. This is what ruins the game for me rn.
