subtitles should disable ALL in game audio so people who use the subtitles feature do not gain a competitive advantage from using it.

I think it’s good because it’s far too common for ult lines to not properly play.

well then it should be turned on be default so everyone knows its their
same, the amount of times ive died to an enemy ult when i didnt even hear the voiceline.

Heck no, Alexis. Sometimes ult lines don’t play properly. This also doesn’t really address those who might be hard of hearing but can still hear somewhat. It’d be pretty lame to give up all sound just so you can more easily understand what’s going on.
It would be a very very slight one I think. But it would be such a miniscule advantage for nearly every player that it would go unnoticed I think. Too small to realistically worry about even.
What about people who want audio AND subtitles, like me

Like I said. It would be a non existant issue.
If anything it could hinder people having to look down at subtitles when you can already hear what’s being said.
But since everyone has access to it and there’s settings for it, I don’t see it as an issue.
This is ultimately what I think as well. Any advantage it would give would be over only those not also using subtitles and it would be extremely minor anyway. Having access to subtitles isn’t going to make most people a better player.
No, sound is way too unreliable in is game.
It’s so infuriating when genji ults from around a corner and the game literally makes no attempt to warn me.
