Stylosa recommends that you stop playing Overwatch 2

He just went on a 20 minute rant about why you should stop. What are your thoughts? Have you stopped already? Are you on the fence? Do you intend to keep playing?

all these content creators had their chance at launch, not when the community heats up the stove.

it does depend on the person. if you dont like it or really hate it then dont play it. forcing yourself to have fun is kind of unhealthy.

everyone is different tho of course. what one person my hate another might love or enjoy. i hate fishing but i am sure there are people out there who love doing it.

with video games i enjoy certain types like d&d centric games. i really dont like dark souls type of games but yea that was game of the year and one of the best games ever. i just dont enjoy that type of game and why i never bought it. maybe someday i will but i doubt it. i might just to see what all the fuss was about it but still it probably will be boring for me… everyone is different

Yeah, but mostly because

  1. Waiting on PVE Campaign in Season 6
  2. ExoPrimal is fun, as a PVE alternative
  3. Work is busy
  4. Still kinda burnt out on doing what I can to get the Microsoft buyout to go smoothly

Then than I get back to my senses, I gotta get working on “What do devs need to make it so Season 6 won’t flop”.

I feel like I am legit the only one who just
Move on and is now playing other things

I stopped once because I got tired of the poor balance. Reinstalled and realized I was forcing myself to have fun and uninstalled  I would like to return if things were better. Also a bit burnt out with the bp

Definitely playing less. Going to be a struggle to finish battle pass. Even after 13 free tier skips. Says a lot there.

I might stop too. They nerfed Symmetra too hard.

influencers and streamers are in their own dilema. streamers like stylosa or other “overwatch” streamers have the unfortunate circumstance that they make the “most” money or revenue playing only one game

i cant symphasize with that since that was their choice. i am sure there are a lot of people out there who hate thier jobs but they do it for the money or they have to have some sort of revenue (most of the jobs i have had ). so yea i think thats what this dude is going through… lol…

tough break but yea 1st world problems :man_shrugging:

I dont care what a youtuber says. If i like the game, i’m gonna play the game.
Why should anyone care what a youtuber thinks?
(and no, i’m not gonna watch a 20 minute rant)

I’ll never understand the gaming subculture of being constantly mad at everything. Who watches videos of people being mad and ranting a video game? It’s so weird.

Stop playing? Probably not. Just like he won’t be stopping making videos about the game.
Am I still actively playing? Nah, just whenever me and my friends feel like playing a few matches. Happens maybe 2 times a week. Besides that I don’t engage with the game or any overwatch related content on YouTube anymore.

I redownloaded Overwatch because I want to get to GM and see if that gives me some special insight into Overwatch or whatever. People act like that will happen, and go so far as to say they don’t have to learn game design philosophy just because they’re good at overwatch, so I want to see.

And by that, I mean I want to see, but I haven’t wanted to actually load Overwatch and play it! I redownloaded it a week ago, and I see the icon, but I feel like doing literally anything else than play Overwatch. I just redownloaded Dead Space 2, and I’m messing around with a save editor to give myself gear you can’t get on the PC version (the Hacker suit and access to the Conduit rooms), and I’ve been having fun like its 2011 again.

That I can do what I want.

The game is getting worse with every patch … I have zero confidence it will get better any more. Haven’t played for weeks and half the time I play I just quit to desktop 1-2min into the game … don’t even care if I get a season ban any more.

The decision by (another) large portion of the remaining community would be a risky move that could pay off with them actually improving the game or backfire with them just shutting it down. People would need to show them interest is there if they actually start doing better at their jobs and stop being such money goblins but if not, they would stop playing the game and buying stuff.

It would boil down to if they actually want to provide a good service and experience to their audience or are just keeping OW2 running for the cash shop.

That being said, I also don’t recommend anyone play the garbage and encourage everyone playing to stop if the thought of quitting even crosses their mind, it’s not worth it to be an OW fan.

Funny that you should mention Dead Space 2. I’ve dug out my XBox 360 and started playing it right after doing a run through of the original Dead Space 1. Is it just me or is DS2 a lot harder? I only really died in combat in DS1 on the annoying fights where it screws with your aim, but I’ve started playing DS2 and I’ve died a few times before I got to the church.

But have you moved on? :man_shrugging:

I think most people’s reaction is “why should i care what this guy says?” Or “jokes on him, already stopped playing”.

On that first thought I do think blizzard takes those e-celebrities into account. And its not a good thing. But there is no denying the power those influencers have on people. Mostly young.

I mean… when i hop into the d4 forums there are many threads with “this youtuber said the game is bad!” Or “if youtuber x stops playing, what will you do?”.

Its pathetic i know, i am one of the “doomers” and i think ow is in serious decadence but i think this culture from young kids of following whatever trends those youtubers/twitchers say is completely toxic and sheepish.

But ow doesnt have a big streaming following right now so, whatever someone says… doesnt matter. The game isnt doing well, it will try something with the move to go to Steam but it is not going to be this Stylosa that makes or breaks the game at this point.
