(Stylosa) Cost of acquiring everything in OW2

Dude my account must be worth so much!

There are some people who would pay that because they can, and that is ok. I’ve read somewhere that 15% of your users will spend silly amounts of money, the other 85% will just do the minimum but that is a good thing. Developers need to realize it is the 85% that make your game popular which drives that 15% to spend money. Trying to increase that 15% hurts your game, but making that other 85% happy will in turn grow the community and thus that 15%.

Blizz needs to start putting players and gameplay first, this is actually what ends up making your game popular and brings in money. Right now they are putting profits first and are shooting themselves in the foot. I want this game to be a success, it is really messed up how many stupid decisions they have been making.

except this is ow1’s old content which could be gained for free at a relatively convenient pace and no money.
i think pink mercy was the only “money only” skin throughout ow1’s lifespan. I may be wrong tho

On a serious note, the most important thing he mentioned in the video is the younger generation of players is now getting used to this corporate behavior, which encourages them to spend a ton of money on a game while also investing a lot of time. That’s concerning and I feel sorry for them to grow up in such an environment of video games.

were rich boys… time to cash out!

let some other suckers buy these accounts, we all know these accounts will be worth half that in the future.

we gotta worry about how other people spend there money

Lol lol I wish I cared more about skins in a first person game hahah :rofl::sweat_smile::rofl::sweat_smile:

Not for me - I already have them all.

That and if we count blizzcon skins.

Cute but why and how?

Ask your dad.

The thing is…I almost completed all of the skin collection in OW1 without spending a dime but the base game price itself which is $60. I don’t mind spending money for skin as long as they give me a run for my money closer to what i have spent vs what i have gained in OW1.

Yes it was feasible in OW1, but that was an outlier, OW1 was incredibly generous with what you could earn for free. There’s no possible way they were ever going to go F2P while continuing that model.

Lmao this whole thing is a disaster

IE no answer then. I see :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

oh, right, forgot about those.

Just because other companies are doing it with their games doesn’t make it right. What about the people who don’t play Apex, or Valorant?..

Even if you do, does that mean you want overwatch cutting into you expendable cash more than usual?

Honestly, skins are just… skins… They’re cosmetic. There’s no reason for them to cost more than 5 dollars, outside of rare cases.

Oh well. Excercise good behavior. About all I can say on the matter.

Really don’t understand why Blizzard wants to ruin what little faith people have in their game. I know people that still refuse to play Blizzard games simply because of the allegations that went down last year and all this bad press on the game isn’t helping matters.

This logic in court:

“Your honor, yes I killed someone. But if you look at H1st0ry there are people who killed way more than me. So what I did is comparatively not so bad. We might even dare say what I did was ok as long as there are worse cases than mine.”

You blow it out of proportion. There is a market standard and blizz is on the more consumer friendly side is all that I wanted to say. Those games exist to make money and its not very realistic that some people would buy all the old skins for 12k. So bashing blizz while a lot of more popular and loved games out there do much worse things and people accept it only means that the ones who disagree just do not matter.

We are not important and can adapt or move on. Because I have seen other games and also played a lot of other games I see it as a necessary evil. But because it does not impact my personal experience if someone uses a skin that I dont have, I could not care less.

If you think 12000$ is high, don’t do research about Counter Strike market.

Those “loved games” (I’m guessing you mean subpar trash like Apex) came storming right out of the gate with expensive cosmetics. OW1 went from pay $40 and eventually get everything to $12k for old skins and $19 for new ones.

Very big difference.
