Hasn’t he already made a video on this?
As long as ppl are paying I dont really see how they’ll care about that.
Not with Ram… I think. I don’t get paid or anything to post these.
It’s just something I do in my free time.

glad you posted it, i like sty’s videos but i usually forget to see if he has new ones.
I don’t really agree with Sty and I don’t think heros being in the BP is a bad thing inherently. The timing of the video also comes off as cringe as well. We still have yet to experience what the challenges to unlock said heros will be. If he’d made the video after we find that out then it feels like it would be an appropriate time to make a topic about how heros are unlocked. As is it’s just rehashing the complaints of the system which we’ve heard on repeat.
I agree. I just think the heroes not being planned to be F2P during the seasons is a tad dumb (let people decide if they want to unlock or not), and 55 of 80 is a bit far to invest and unlock characters.
I’m also understanding that it’s a tad silly on a business end to make the feature item of a Battle Pass just out there to have or even to put it very low on the Tier list, but ranged like 35 or 40 is far more reasonable (they want fair engagement of the product). 55 is just the reach too far.
Basically:
- Have the champ f2p during the season because it drives people to try it and determine if they want to unlock it
- Change the unlock range to 35/40 of 80 because a business understandably doesn’t want to cannibalize it’s own product making it too easy (think of how any PTR played out. Hype for like a few days then dead)
- Keep it immediately unlocked if a person just buys the season pass
Agreeable. I think 30 is probably the lowest it can go. As you still want some what of a grind to actually encourage people to buy for an insta unlock. But 30 is far more attainable for people who play casually. Especially if they keep bringing in double EXP weekends and maybe even make it so all dailies give exp instead of just the first 3 you complete.
I disagree about making it F2P during the entire season but I don’t dislike the idea of a trail run for the character. perhaps they can choose a few weekends or an entire week. Maybe even allow the hero to be playable in arcade but not QP/Comp.
I think it helps, but it does 100% throw out the window that the game is pay to win by people having earlier access.
It’s kind of harmless in that route. People could get through playing around in Competitive with the new heroes during the season. No one really has any sort of advantage otherwise.
Outside of that, the only thing that exists in the “It’s P2W because heroes are locked behind a paywall,” is basically… Sorry those people showed up way later on or made a new account? Dunno what they were expecting.
The problem with making it F2P for the season is that it means people have much less of an incentive to buy the BP. As far as I’m concerned the devs have already done a good job at curtailing “P2W” and we need not concern more about it.
Stylosa will literally say anything he needs to say to keep the sweet sweet YouTube ad revenue flowing.
Shilling, grifting, nothing is off limits. He simultaneously takes no side and both sides.
Can we stop propping this guy up like he’s a worthwhile contributor to this community?
There is nothing “new” about it because kiriko already unlocks the same way for non OW1 owners.
Impatience, other stuff, or time crunch. Those are all pretty huge factors most will actually have to still purchasing the battle pass even if the hero is available.
I understand the marketing idea of putting an unlock in the middle of the battle pass. If a person grinds out the work, they’re more tempted to either put in the work to clear out the rest, or just say, “Eh, might as well” and unlock what they’ve already worked up to.
That seems like a fair model of engagement.
