stuck on applying update screen now im suspended fix ur game

Hi Blizzard,
I was queueing up with a friend for a ranked game when I suddenly had a screen pop up saying “applying updates”, which I couldn’t get out of. My friend told me we got into a game but I was still stuck on the same “applying updates” screen. My friend told me that I was subsequently kicked form the game for inactivity, yet I was still stuck on that loading screen. I ended the program on task manager and reloading OW2, to find that I had been suspended for an hour.
I have a picture of the “applying updates” screen, which i had never seen before to share with you if you need it. But I’m frustrated because i had been climbing the entire day and this would probably affect my rank and stats.
If you can undo the damage from me being booted from this game and unsuspend me asap that would be very much appreciated.

That’s happened to me too in Comp queue. I consistently queue up with friends then the applying update screen appears.
My friends however enter game and tell me that I am AFK. As a result the match gets cancelled and I get slapped with the penalty and the ban from playing for an amount of time.
It’s horrendous for the rank and it’s a huge buzzkill.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I was suspended for 8 hours because of this “applying update” thing that doesn’t even go through! This isn’t fair that we’re being suspended for something out of our control.

Yeah same issue here. I have been banned for 8 hours now due to the same issue happening 3 times in one night. Very very frustrating as I am being banned for something completely out of my control, please please please fix this issue asap and possibly look into how to reverse the negative affects players have had because of it!

Bro it happened 3 times, now banned for 20 hours bc i keep forgetting, it only happens on my first game when i boot it up, so i have to run an unranked let it crash, reboot, then play what i want. Bro 20 HOUR BAN, i cant even play today now
