Truth be, This issue started around the time perks were introduced, and I haven’t figured it out since.
Originally I thought that, since I play late at night, It was Windows Deciding to scan my PC Randomly, thus My Disk usage would go up to 100% randomly, causing massive Lag spikes and ruining a number of games .
The more I thought about it, and as i played other, sometimes more intensive games, I noticed a distinct trait of the issue : This only happens on overwatch.
if I play Helldivers 2 At 0300 ?No issues. MMO’s ? Not a problem. Load up a Mod-heavy Minecraft instance? Nada.
It was ONLY Overwatch causing this issue.
Now, I don’t know the cause for this. But I DO know that it starts as Disk usage under Overwatch, and then Windows Defender picks up the Slack and becomes the major issue.
Hence my original consideration that it was just the time that I was playing causing the issue.
I’ve been searching far and wide and havent found anything even remotely resembling a solution to this problem, With the Most common ( And Infuriatingly Worthless ) Advice given to " upgrade your PC " Or " It’s a hardware issue " When other people talk about similar issues.
I can ensure The reader that my PC , while older, Runs More intensive Games than overwatch without a single hitch.
