I don’t wanna talk down to the team or the VO’s but I felt like the cutscenes and probably the over all event just…it’s very lack luster. It felt like watching an anime written by a couple of white guys
I am in so much pain right now that thinking about its quality genuinely makes me want to throw up…
But yeah, I feel maybe another rewrite could not have hurt as much as my stomach does now…
I just wish the map and the modes weren’t so bugged.

They always feel like that, though lol. I thought that was a part of the appeal. It’s a very cartoony, simplistic series that doesn’t try to be more than what it is.
I was always confused when people would praise the cinematics as these beautifully-written, original masterpieces when they’re filled with intended cliches and exaggerated characters.
I think my biggest gripe with the story became clear when I heard Winston ask why they’re going after Max instead of the other targets “like Doomfist.”
This implies the “introduction” Overwatch is looking for isn’t with Doomfist, tying in to his later capture.
Which means literally nothing happened in this event.
All we got was a “shocking” reveal of another “bad” guy who doesn’t relate to any current questions or events, including Storm Rising itself.
This was my problem with it too. If Overwatch as a whole is an anime, then this mission was the definition of pointless filler.
