Seriously guys, calm down.
You can’t expect the developer to constantly address EVERY SINGLE criticism.
I’m getting tired of the constant barrage of “mercy is bad” thread, we don’t need 50 per day.
You demand that the developer talk about mercy, think about mercy, balance around mercy. Everytime they DARE talking about something else you complain that they are ignoring feedback.
And not just on mercy, every single patch there’s an massive uproar of entitled people demanding the changes they are sure are the best.
We are not developers. We don’t have all the data they have and use to make balance changes. Overbuff is not gospel.
Sure, everyone has their ideal changes, there are many heroes i want them to look at. Sym’s primary, Hanzo still busted storm and even a buff to mercy’s valk.
But don’t forget they are human beings and changes aren’t as easy as just pushing two buttons and go, they require extensive testing, because a small changes might completely affect another hero.
As of now, despite the flaws, i feel ow is at its most balanced. I see tons of different comps and strategies and overall i feel i can reliably play every hero without being an absolute liability to my team.
Seriously, calm down and be grateful that the game is still updated and the developer have said that they are now focusing more on bugfixes and balance changes, putting owl and events a bit on the side.
Which is what everyone was asking for.

To be honest I am no fan of Blizz and their practices. I am actually a bit salty because they destroyed almost all their franchises for me.
BUT it actually makes me hold them in higher regard that so much stuff that part of the community asks for does not get implemented, gets shut down or gets ignored (whatever you want to call it). This retarded mob mentality where people think they are right to demand something just because a lot of people are screaming loudly for it has to stop.
we’ll wait when they stop abusing power, banning random thread makers, and actually start balancing the game. hi-rez (the CASH GRAB COMPANY) has better communication as well as better balance, (remember cards unbound? you dont see them saying “we think it was successful”)
we have to yell because they wont hear us talk normally, GOOD DEVS listen and implement community requested features (even valve, the quietest of them)
let’s take a look at Gara, a look at Cards unbound, a look at Ela bosak, a look at Pyro’s flamethrower, and lastly, a look at our very own bastion
all balanced because people spoke up (even if bastion’s in a bad place right now)

but if i’m a dev that only cares about “my intuition” as a first time shooter/moba balancing team, i don’t think i’d want to listen to someone who is saying otherwise
They certainly don’t have to implement all of them. Heaven forbid some of the community’s ideas are not great and Blizzard are not obligated to do everything we say.
Their approach is to take what we think and care about into consideration, not give us everything we want like spoiled children.
Which in turn would create an even more toxic atmosphere in where if you yell loud enough for the developers to do something that you want, even though they don’t agree with your decision, they’ll eventually concede and do what you want anyway…
…which is the absolute last thing that the community needs.
Just imagine if every change that the forums asked for was implemented?
Every single DPS hero would be nerfed into oblivion, the primary team composition would be Triple Tank, Triple Support…nobody would die, the Support roster would still be majorly, if not, more imbalanced…and nobody would play the game.
Blizzard may make a lot of decisions that I don’t agree with, but being careful when it comes to feedback? I’ll definitely agree with that.
After all, we all were begging for Roadhog to be nerfed, right?

not only is that your opinion, but if the majority thinks something then it has a better chance of being right. Bastion was OP (and everyone whined) and got reworked to be fun to play, but now META made him bad, not dev work
i remember them defending it for quite long, until the game director was changed.
Can’t deny about them being clear, they made a lot of developer journals to explain what their general line of thought on balance is.

Mercy isn’t the only hero in the game and she ovrshadows every other discussion in this forum. You are making the game wors for everyone else.
And a revert would just throw her into absolute trash tier. Do you guys have short memory spans or weren’t around back then? She was bar non THE WORST healer, to the point she was a throw pick.
A revert will make her worse.
And seriously, i find it ironic that you come to a topic like this and tell that you are entitled to being listened and answered to.
Developers aren’t bots at our mercy, you can’t demand for them to answer every single topic.
Just because a majority of people think something, it doesn’t make them right.
Bastion is an example of where Blizzard agreed that he needed to be looked at, so they did something. That doesn’t mean they agree with everything the community thinks, and being the professional developers with data we don’t have access to, and experience in the video game industry… I’m gonna trust Blizzard over the forums where we don’t agree on everything anyway.

There are many nice ideas on the forums, but it’s all speculation, we can’t predict how good they’d actually be.
