I hate when we’re losing a point because Mercy decides to use her pistol instead of healing. Same for using the ult only to use the pistol when you have 4-5 teammates alive that you can multiple heal with your ult or buff. Yet you decide to use the freaking pistol and 1 by 1 we all die.
They then say they have gold healing. That means nothing even if there was another healer. We lose point because of you.

As an ex-mercy main, allow me to be clear, because your title isn’t. This is a poor time to use the pistol. The only time it is acceptable, is when you, the generic dps main, are too busy failing to do your job, and your mercy is being attacked.
Stop letting me be ganked on from behind by flankers and I would not have to pull it out.
I understand where you are coming from but when a Reinhardt is half health and I’m calling it out and no one is focusing him I’m gonna whip out my pistol and finish the job. (There are other scenarios this is just one that came up in a game tonight)

You keep telling yourself that. Flankers are supposed to flank in this game, and the first target should always be the healer in the back. If you can’t watch your back, and I have to defend myself, then too bad for you when you want them heals.
Stop making excuses. I was the one keep the team alive and providing tons of Nano Boost. Mercy wasn’t even healing and using pistol when she should have been healing. She only past me because she let me die when using pistol when I needed healing. Even the team blamed her.
Don’t make excuses when it clear whose fault it was.

It’s clear OP just had a bad game and this is a generalized, rant thread aimed at the specific Mercy they played with-- so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
There are good and bad times to use pistol. If there wasn’t a use for it, Mercy wouldn’t have it. People who tell Mercy to not use it are silly. I often use Valk to dive snipers when I have a team that refuses to or to deal damage against an enemy to save a struggling team member. Sucks you got stuck with a Mercy you personally feel wasn’t utilizing the pistol correctly, but ranting about it on the forum isn’t going to do much.
People like you just try and looking for excuses. My abilities has nothing to do with the topic. Ana cannot heal herself every single time either. Plus it 10 second cooldown. Stop looking for an excuse.

The problem is not her, if you can’t manage to win a fight without 3-5 seconds without heal then it’s you
I had the golds and lost them thanks to Mercy bad teamwork. We did won the match by the way but barely because I shoot a Nano Boost at McCree before I was killed.
