Its not reliable due to private profiles. And even profiles that arn’t private are worng on them, then you have people whos profiles who are messed up so can we stop using it as a reference all together.

As far as I know that only happened with OW1 data. That won’t impact OW2 data.

It does tho with deaths per 10 kills and all of the other stats out side pick rate
Plus even if it was accuracy it goes based on month not season so we can pick the current season
All of this is based on OW2 data, which hasn’t been impacted by the issues with OW1 data.
They actually updated it. If you click on individual heroes you can see the stats based on current season(albeit there’s not enough data for this season yet)

My understanding is that it pulls from overall career profile data and doesn’t separate OW1 from OW2. I could be wrong tho
Either way though I think blizzard is overdue to fix career profiles and integrate that level of data in an official capacity.

Cool good to know but it still dont address incorrect data witch they say they get a good bit of and private profiles so new players data is not tracked unless they let it be
Or they can just show us exactly what data they work with so we can see why they are doing what they are doing

Their data is time based, so it’s fair to infer that’s not the case.
They likely have a database of all the info of public profiles(or at least averages) and measure changes over time. They also had the data before OW2, so they had access to the correct statistics and could have(and looking off of the numbers likely did) fix the inaccurate data in their system.

To be fair torb does any time i play him lol. But the problem is its and argument from authority in a way.
Did not know that. Granted I stopped using it a lot the first time it broke, but you learn something new every day.

The level of “incorrect” data really depends on sample size vs total population.
For example a sample size of 10 out of 1,000 is definitely more skewed then a sample of 100 out of 1,000.
We don’t know how endemic private profiles are, we also don’t know if they can access the data but are incapable of assigning it to an individual since it’s implied they’re working with Blizz at least a little now.
Without knowing for a fact what both of those are Overbuff’s accuracy or inaccuracy is literally impossible to even speculate on. The only way we’d know without ever knowing what percentage of user hero data OB has access to is if Blizz themselves dumped the true data in a similar or the same format.
I’d definitely say to take any OB stats with a grain of salt, but it’s certainly above wild speculation about general trends.

We have a rough guess as of ow1 it was aroubd 70% abd with the influx if new players being set to private that problem alot higher

And where did you get the 70% private stat from?
New players are set private by default, but that really just means Bronze is probably worse than we get a picture of. Even then it doesn’t take giga brain juice to swap to public profile, most people I’ve played with are public.
I ain’t got time to watch a vod on break my guy, so I’m not going to talk about that at all.

Yes but people use it as the end all be all for argument like lookign at genji last season he has less then a 1% pick rate in bronze and a 10% pick rate in gm that makes no sense.
Because if he look at season when he was stronger his pick rate is 2.8. This makes no sense
neither are people with private profiles

Ya mines private becuase i got harrased alot for being a support main thats one tricks genji if i had a dollar for even death threat i have gotten for that i would not be in the military
