Stop using Damage Orb

Seriously, just stop. You have a healing meter, not a damage meter. You should really only be using it for poke and to close a late fight. Healing Orb is way more powerful in every other situation.

Damage orb and right click are her best forms of damage, I believe 60 dps, so no. Of course a good moira uses damage and healing orbs to get far off targets or if she’s low on healing, but damage orbs are a large part of her kit, especially when tying to get ult.

No u

But seriously, I use it when it is needed in a team fight. I use the healing orb way more than the damage orb for sure.

Most of the time the healing orb is just a waste.
It is usefull only in situlations when you really need to do more healing in a short time (in or before a team fight) or when you have to heal a person far away from you.

In every other situlation the dmg orb is much more usefull since it gives a good amount of ult charge

Not in every situation like when there is no one to heal and you want to charge ult, or confirm a kill. Otherwise I agree healing is usually better.

But that’s healing juice you don’t have to use. Sure you can get more ultimate charge, but coal is pretty bad anyway. Using her base kit to its maximum potential is much more efficient than trying to farm coal.

Yeah, I find the healing orb very situational. It’s good if someone far-off (but still within reach of the orb) needs healing or if my team is in a room but so often it just ends up grazing the teammates that need healing, I get more done sending a damage orb at the people doing damage to my teammates, there’s a chance just seeing the orb will throw them off for a moment.

How about when you already have ult?

Using the healing orb is usually a waste when my team is spread out, which is almost always, and it’d be more help if there were less enemies around to do the damage.

If your team is spread out, switch off Moira.

People, healing orb is better than damage in most situations, it even gives more ult charge than damage esp in team fights. Damage IMO is better when there is no healing to be done, healing orb properly bounced around surfaces always gives me more ult charge. I see many just throw damage into a group even with ult fully charged I donno why to give enemy supports ult charge maybe

This. I often don’t get a good chance to use my healing orb cause my team is too spread out. I’m more helpful to the team throwing my damage orb out and letting them finish the enemy off than wasting the heal orb on 1-2 people. I end up using the heal orb more on myself than my team LOL

Why? Healing one or two people still helps.

There are just better healers for a team that likes to play spread out. Moira’s strongest when the team plays close together because her heals can hit more than one person at a time.

Because you could be playing Mercy. Zenyatta or Ana(depending on the comp/situation) who all have better single-target healing and provide way more utility. Moira is basically dead weight if she isn’t healing more than one person with her primary fire.

It’s about balance. If my fanta tank has at least 1/3 left, nobody is taking mass damage, and everyone is close enough to be sprayed or faded to, I simply won’t need the healing orb, so I can get away with a damage orb. If I need to mass heal without ult up, or my healing resource is low, of course healing orb is the right call. It’s about knowing which is needed when

A lot of people playing Moira dont seem to have support mentality. You are not dps healing is your priority. IMO healing 2 people is better than tickling the enemy with those orbs and charging enemy support ults

Why switch to someone who dies easier when I could instead just not die. If my team’s spread out then they know what they’re doing, and if they don’t then they’ll lose. Not a whole lot being a different healer would do for them. Maybe charge one of the enemies ults a bit more.

Depends on the situation. Priority should always be towards healing but charging your ult is important too. Especially if you have a secondary healer that can top off your teammates after a fight, spamming damage orbs down chokes or crowded indoor areas can easily pick off squishies, try and force teams down alternate paths, and get that ult charge up very quickly.

Just had another game with a troll Moira. I was wondering why I wasn’t being healed several minutes into the game and then I press tab and I have 5 golds with Mei and sadness ensues.
