Bastion is ruining the game and ruined the grand finals. On the ladder, it takes far too much teamwork with randos to deal with. Nerf his damage or redesign your maps to have so more flank routes and cover. It isn’t fun to win with Bastion Barrier and it isn’t fun to lose either. I lost the majority of my games just because of Bastion + Barrier + Baptiste. Its disgusting and horrendous design. Fix it now and how have you left it so long?
God I hate Bastion + Barrier(s) + Immortality field. Not only does it feel foul to win this way it feels horrendous to lose. Payload and hybrid maps are completely unplayable right now sometimes and it feels so demotivating and foul to lose just because of Bastion+Barrier and Bap. I literally had games where my teams DPS is outplaying the enemy team by miles. So the crap enemy team just camp in a corner and then with linear and no flank routes or cover for a lot of maps it over if you don’t have a Bastion and Barriers. This has to be one of the glaring examples of how terrible the game design is with Overwatch especially when your SR can get utterly ruined with such loses.
That combination requires three heroes to commit to a specific strategy. Because a Tank is also involved with this, your opposing team would need at least four players counter this.
It’s doable, if you and your team are willing to commit to some strategy. Entrenched play like this is pretty easy to counter.
Far easier to execute than it is to counter. If people actually worked together in this game it wouldn’t be so bad but op is right. When majority of games consist of people refusing to switch off their favorite hero and refuse to join voice, countering bunker becomes nearly impossible. Also a well executed bunker has never been easy to counter and 222 has only made it worse.
Regardless, bastion is a stupid outdated design that messes up the flow of the game. It’s all a fun game of overwatch until someone decides to bring bastion into the game, then everyone has to stop what they’re doing, switch heroes and hard focus this dumb hero until he switches, then you can resume playing the game you were playing before. Just rework bastion into something that actually fits in with the rest of the game. I absolutely hate how disruptive he is to the flow of the match. It’s obnoxious.
But the comp completely requires coordination. I’ve had the shield comp completely fall because the shields couldn’t follow along. So just learn how to counter it. Its really not that hard.
As a Sombra main, this is my only gripe with Bastion. The second he’s spotted I have to go from ‘doing fun Sombra stuff’ to focus and hack Bastion repeatedly… then go spawn camp him. If I don’t he WILL set up and murder my team relentlessly.
