I’m so sick and tired of this community and this hatred towards Symmetra mains. I just had another beatiful game where someone told me to kill myself just for playing Symmetra.
I was getting picks, had 3 gold medals, deleted the enemy from their backline with my turrets and orbs and guess who got blamed for the loss? Exactly the Symmetra. Did someone blamed the guy that didn’t contributed in anything at all and was basically throwing the match? Of course not.
How long do we still have to wait for our hero to compete with the others and not be seen as a throw pick? Despite of Symmetra 3.0 not being fun at all and adding the toxicity we still have to face, when will the devs stop ignoring Symmetra?

I hope you reported/muted/blocked/avoided as teammate (etc) the person who said such a thing, first off

Second, it may be worth opening a support ticket to get extra attention on this

I ignore people like that because they aren’t worth my time. I don’t go to the forms and make a thread about how it hurt my feelings.

It’s not a Symmetra specific issue. People are going to be toxic regardless. It’s sad. Report the person, mute, block and avoid. Hopefully they will be punished for their actions.

That being said, I get a lot of salty people in my face when playing Hanzo. It’s either “GG SNIPER NOT DOING ANYTHING” or from the enemy team “TRASH HERO KYS”. It’s either one way or another.

People are just really annoying in this game, which is why you shouldn’t even give them the time of your day. They’re not worth it.

But this doesn’t solve the issue either. You will always find toxic people in an online game. You just have to be able to ignore those people. We can’t magically remove all toxicity.

Telling someone to kill them self is a pretty terrible thing to do but you can’t feed the trolls

You do realize when you say that you’re basically excusing people doing bad things to criticize the person who it’s happening to right? People do the same thing when people are bullied irl too, it’s no better than the original act if you ask me. It’s worse than standing by and doing nothing, which is already bad. It’s actively defending the behavior of people that do bad things and deflecting any blame onto the who was acted upon. Sensitive or not, what they did was wrong and you’d do better to focus on that.

I hate to say it, but “fixes” to a hero won’t make anyone less toxic. They’ll just find another way to be toxic towards said hero.

Toxic players - and someone saying go kill yourself is certainly being toxic - should in my opinion be banned from (or at minimum silenced in) the game. Blizzard appears to agree with that in principle, given that abusive chat is one of the reportable categories

I agree that thicker skin is a good thing, but when you sit down to play a game to relax and enjoy yourself, toxicity shouldnt be a part of it
