The “leak” from Dexerto saying that the next patch is only coming mid-January is completely misleading clickbait. Even the original poster of the tweet, Trill, has said he’s not sure it’s definite.
We do not know how old that document with the patch information is. It could be weeks or months old. And not one single person has corroborated it yet.
What we do know is we are absolutely getting a patch for Winter Wonderland soon, likely next week. And based on previous years, that patch will include the current PTR changes and will hold us over until the next patch in January.
Looking back, we got major patches on 8 January 2019 and 8 January 2018. Previous Winter Wonderland patches dropped on 11 December 2018 and 12 December 2017.
There is no reason to panic yet.

Telling you, someone could go onto Notepad, sloppily pass something as a “leak”, and some people on these forums would still believe it and get riled up.
I agree with the concept of not spreading rumors.
That being said, on the other hand, rumours are happening to overcome the complete lack of communication from Blizzard. Not the dev, but Jeff himself.
You can’t expect rumors to not happen if we only get dripfeed info through a remote interview lost somewhere in some website and nothing on the official communication channels.
On your post, yes, rumours like that are basically just inflaming even more the community, or what’s remaining of it.

I was already worried 13 days ago. It’s annoying that it already took this long.
The live patch is actively hurting the game, they need to push this PTR ASAP.
From my perspective they are already 2 weeks late as is.

Why are you typing this everywhere, pretending to know blizzards infrostructure and ignoring everything than can cause a patch to delay. Jesus, stop spamming that everywhere LOL
This would be a lot easier if these devs were actually normal and gave clearly defined public release dates.
I usually just ignore “leaks” until Blizzard announces things anyway. I do wonder if people even want to hear about “leaks” in the first place, I know I don’t since it becomes a spoiler before a big reveal.

If the programmers don’t know how to assign values to variables, then they don’t deserve to be programmers and they should hire somebody else.
This is like 1 + 1 = 2 complexity for a programmer.
It’d be kinda insulting to assume they aren’t even capable of that.
