You just died. Something in your precious little pea brain tells you to spam the ‘need healing’ button until the cool down warning makes you stop. Do you do it because you’re legitimately angry at your healer? Is it really their fault you couldn’t survive the 1v1 you just hand with Junkrat in the broom closet? Do you think spamming post-death will make them drop everything and pocket you for the rest of the match? Are you angry that you, the most important person playing Overwatch at any given point in time, has died? Or are you just being a bastard?
I can only speak on behalf of myself, but I pinky promise you hearing a somebody trigger ‘I need healing’ three times fast the millisecond after they die only makes me avoid them with a ten foot pole for the rest of the game.
I should disclaim with the fact that I primarily play quickplay, where everybody is terrible and we’re all perishing, but the moral of the story is the same. Your healers are trying. You don’t have to make their lives hell.
Same with when I am already in the processing of healing them and they keep saying “I need healing”, especially if I’m Mercy.
Especially when it’s a Genji player across the entire map. I’m sorry, if you want me to heal you as Ana, you might need to stop jumping around and swift striking like an ADHD rabbit
I only do that after spamming “Need healing”, dying, and seeing on the camera that you were right behind me sucking on the Rein shield and throwing a damage orb.
I know sometimes I hit it on accident, but I’ll also do that when I’m with my friends and we are the healers (only to tease them a bit). If I was ever in a game with you or anyone else who thought I was being rude/dumb, please accept my apologies. If I’m spamming it, its either cause I’m hitting the wrong button or I’m teasing a friend.
I dunno. If someone’s spamming “I need healing” I tend to spam “Group up” back. I’m not going to chase your stupid face around the map, group up with the team and stop thinking you’re going to carry 1v6.
If you’re standing behind them and expecting them to take care of you that’s half of the issue.
If you were spamming prior to your death that’s probably part of the reason they let you die. A good Moira won’t ignore you to instead zug an enemy Rein shield unless you’re being annoying to them. That being said, the support class is no less likely to be the victim of tunnel vision from time to time than any other class. Sometimes you just have to get that 10 HP Rein. Mistakes happen. Don’t abuse them for it.
You are 200% okay. I can always tell the difference when somebody’s messing with their friends or fat fingering over being a brat.
Id be lying if I said I hadnt spammed for healing a few times. But honestly, if I do (which is barely ever, if at all) its because I see the healer not healing anyone at all… Since I play tank I know in most circumstances Im the healing priority, beside another healer whos being flanked
Still, dps spamming it every time they die after going on a 1 man mission to hanzo ville is just tilting
So if I don’t ask for healing, and I die right in front of you, it’s not your fault because you didn’t notice, and if I ask for healing and die, it’s MY fault because I asked for heals and probably DPSing was more important anyway. =|
Press the “I need healing!” button once to alert your healer, who can’t see you by the way, that you need some help. They’ll give you a quick top up and you can be on your way.
Find a health pack. If you’re behind your healer, you’re likely safer than they are, and can very well fend for yourself. Especially if you’re a high mobility hero.
Move to a place where your healer can actually see you. I don’t know how you expect to be healed when you’re not in line of sight to begin with.
Problem solved, and hey! Not one of these things required you spamming the button, or dying. Wow!
