It’s literally just Tank 2. And not everyone even enjoys Flexing.
Yet y’all forcing it for extra rewards. Lol.
Edit: Since so many people are taking this the wrong way- I mean to never do something like Grand Mesa again where you have to Flex to continue with the event. It should always be optional, or do double progress if you Flex as it was in Season 1 when you could play certain heroes for quicker completion if you wanted to. You weren’t locked out just because you didn’t want to play Vendetta or Zarya or whoever- you just completed it slower.
I do not mean achievement-based hero things where you have to do such-and-such with certain things to get a spray or play X amount of games to get a title. (Granted, some of those achievement sprays do need to be worked on because some of them are nigh impossible to get now but- that’s a different topic.) Those are long term goals that will stay around ‘till the game dies. I mean events that last a short amount of time and make you rush to get what you want from them.
Playing the game how you enjoy it should always be the main goal for any event.
90% of my gameplay is Mystery Heroes. That’s what I play because that’s what I like. I don’t like venturing out into other game modes. But I do when I need to for events like this.
In the end, you are the only one forcing yourself to do it.
You have to do it to get the rewards. I’m not sure what you aren’t getting???
It’s not like the challenge was “Do 10 games, if you flex it counts as 2x credit” or something. In which case yeah, flexing would be optional to get it and we could be “Hey just do 10 games as normal, why would you force yourself to flex?”
This is the nature of the game’s reward system, and has been since the start really. I would for instance love to get the pixel and cute sprays for Lifeweaver, but they are tied to two very annoying and difficult challenges. Some sprays are near impossible to get and others are done within a couple of minutes. Why? Because that’s just how the game operates for some reason. Some things come freely and others require very hard work. Flexing is hard work for some and easy for others. Blizzard believes it distributes players more evenly across multiple game modes, so it’s not going away anytime soon I believe.
I have a best friend. But my wife doesn’t play overwatch
I don’t really care about the challenge myself but I’ve seen it posted enough times to know others do. I think letting 6v6 complete it would for the most part solve that issue.
And for others who don’t care about the challenge and prefer 6v6 like myself.. well we wouldn’t say no to a little bit of an extra reward for playing our preferred game mode anyway.
I don’t either…I ended up finishing both of them by accident because again I was trying to fill whatever role was available (wether it was tank DPS support…I didn’t care)
I think people really are so focused on their own problem, that they dont know what you even mean.
I agree that they should remove the “flex” challenges from event missions. Its ok if that mission would be optional or give faster progress for a mission, but to force people to play flex to complete the event missions is really annoying.
Another point is that this also negatively affects 6v6 players, because there is no flex. In general I feel like the missions should be changed to be more general like “deal 100k damage”, “heal 100k damage” and “mitigate 50k damage”. This would be much better, because not only can tanks mitigate damage so people are not forced to play flex aka tank, but they would also be incentivized because it is faster. Same for other roles as well.
This is typically how rewards in all games work. Do the thing, get the reward. Don’t do the thing, don’t get the reward. That is your choice. And when we are talking about “rewards” here, the value you are placing on them its entirely self-imposed. It’s just pixels on a screen, it’s really not that important.
If the rewards offered gameplay advantages you might have a point.
I wouldn’t be irritated by it if I didn’t get queued for Tank pretty much all of the time during it, I’m just like “great another Tank game, time to go Ramattra..”
