Statistics are not the deciding factor on which game balance is based, If that was the case then sym/torb would actually be getting nerfed since they have the highest win rates across the board. But the exact opposite is happening, They’re getting rework buffs despite of their stats.
The deciding factor have always been and always will be how fair and healthy a hero’s kit in the game.
Nobody was looking at statistics when Roadhog’s hook 1.0 was decided to get nerfed.
Scatter is getting completely removed from the game despite Hanzo being off meta and his stats are significantly low.
same for doomfist, he was heavily nerfed shortly after launch before he got a chance to have any stats at all.
same goes for sombra.
So stop bringing “muh stats” argument every time you get confronted with how dominant Tracer is in the game right now. She’s unfun to play against and unhealthy for the game and needs to get tuned down.
LUL. you know why they are reworking sym and hanzo? because they have the lowest pickrates. you can see that winrate tends to go up the lower the character’s pickrates is.
hanzo gets rework not because the scatter arrow is unfair, but because they want to give him more sustainability
COMPARING to the other meta heroes, Tracer’s pickrate and winrate are pretty average. nothing that shows that she’s a monster or whatever.
Tracer is ok.
They’re is an actual, known cause of this. The fact that you don’t know it but still try to use it discredits you. Or you know it and just manipulate it to make it look like you’re right. Either way, you destroy your own credibility.
Uhhh… you can, in fact, use a comprehensive approach that examines both stats and gameplay to justify nerfs and buffs…
As for Tracer, she needs viable counters. You know, Torb, Symmetra… Brigitte is coming, but the reality is Tracer is not especially powerful (which we can see from stats) but just lacks any meaningful response from the enemy team, which facilitates the high pickrate.
Tracer has remained unchanged throughout the whole existence of the game but it’s only in the dive meta where she has come front and center. She wasn’t this popular in the triple tank meta.
The devs need to nip dive in the bud. This means giving Winston, but especially D.Va with her 5 second cooldown, longer cooldown times for their movement abilities so they can no longer jump in and out of fights like fleas.
Statistics is the only non-biased way to look at the game’s balance. A hero with average pickrate and winrate is fine and does not need any changes to it’s power-level.
I disagree, I find Tracer much more fun and interactive to fight against than Moira by a long margin, Tracer needs to know how to move and aim at the same time plus her unpredictability is tied to the player’s skill since her blinks leave a trace, killing a Tracer can be hard but it’s definitely not impossible, she can only heal once with recall and if you pay attention you’ll know exactly where she’ll land
First things first: Torb and Sym are getting adjustments because their pickrates are less than 1%. Similarly, such a low pickrate will inflate winrate as only those who know how to play them are picking them. So there’s your main argument blown out of the water off the bat.
“Unfun” is entirely subjective. It’s a horrible argument. I find it unfun to play against an auto lock turret, or a lock on beam that can melt me despite completely breaking LoS. We should nerf Torb and Sym, then, purely off of my personal opinion, right?
It is literally the red team’s job to make your entire game unfun. Should we just go ahead and nerf the red team as a whole? Or should we just accept that losing to someone better than us is inherently unfun and stop complaining that we died yet again?
Also, if you’re going to claim this, then also tell all the people who are trying to use statistics against Tracer to buzz off then as well. Two sides to every coin, you don’t get to claim that only the ones who disagree with you are in the wrong.
So who says if the kit is fair, are you the expert on that? Screw stats, I think Doomfist is the best character in the game because he punched me into a wall once.
Symmetra and Torbjörn are mainly used on defense, their winrate is vastly inflated because of them being strong in holding point; them having roughly twice the average tie-rate from the rest of the cast indicates this is their main use.
Tracer on the other hand is used on every map-type, both defense and offense, and is statistically mid-tier.
Doomfist was nerfed directly after launch, that wasn’t a stats decision because he had no stats back then. Hanzo’s whole consistency is in his scatter ability that guaranteed a kill even on tanks every 10 sec, removing that is a straight out nerf and hes getting compensated for it with an escape ability and a less consistent dps ability. Hog nerfs came after a lot of struggle over trying to avoid nerfing him because his stats actually was pretty average despite his hooking through walls and one shooting tanks.
Yet Junkrat was nerfed already, where are Tracer nerfs?
