Stop cussing in voice chat

I’m not a kid, but kids do play this game, so please don’t cuss in the voice chat. it’s also toxic. It’s also free to play, so a large amount of its player base is likely kids.

You’re right.
But most children are pretty toxic themselves and already know the forbidden words.

Or their parents could do their jobs as parents so other people don’t have to. If you don’t want your child exposed to potentially bad language and you’re going to let them play an online game then it isnt everyone else’s responsibility to censor themselves. Turn off the chat and mute voice chat.

Unfortunately this topic will never reach players en-masse, we are like 5-10% of the playercount here on the forums

That’s not going to stop the people from swearing. If anything you just encouraged a few thick heads to do more of it the second they hear a child in the voice chat.

Also, I wouldn’t worry about the kids especially if they are not yours and not in any real danger. They have heard it all and if the parents are worried then there is an option to turn the voice chat off.

Someone has never played Roblox before and it shows

I play Adopt me on Roblox and the things that have been said to me when declining someones offer for one of my pets has been far worse than anything nasty someone has said to me on Overwatch

Kids today have more access to things 80’s kids could ever dream of.

Ornography, profanity, questionable videos, even videos that attempt to isolate them from their parents so horrible things can be done.

Thinking child innocence on an online game is a thing, is both naive and telling of your circumstance.

Besides we are shooting people in the face with weapons that are accessible to anyone. Why are you not lobbying to stop kids from playing this game?

“We got kids playing these games where you can stab someone with a blade and rip out all their organs. But God Help them if the female victim’s breast is exposed as a blade is plunged into her chest or she blurts an obscenity as a reaction.”

Also, most of the time I hear someone excessively cursing in OW… they usually sound like theyre pretty young.

Kehehehe

I’m not a kid, but kids do play this game

And they are the ones cursing up a storm than an average adult. It a Teen rated game that is free to play, teens today curse more than when I was growing up

But at least we had style and petty comebacks that resulted in befriending these same people down the road. XD

So kids are playing a game that’s too old for them?
The rating is like 12/13 years old. If they decide to play a game meant for an older age range, that’s on them. Don’t change the rules of something to make it suitable for kids that shouldn’t be there.

Cussing in and of itself is not toxic, its how yo use it. For example, if I cuss at something, it’s not toxic. But cussing at someone can be.

It’s been like that for years, tbh. Not like it’s a new thing.

Think of all the COD & whatever lobbies that were filled with angry little children. (Both literally & mentally, lol.)

Don’t forget the blood splatter!

Oops guys guess we have to cancel Overwatch.

While I agree we should all act more civil, there’s a disable vc and text chat option in the settings.

We can’t change how people react to things, only our response to it.

As a person at my 29 currently. i have to say

Most Kids nowdays they will never appreciate being on a lobby getting bullied by other 23+ year olds. Then you pop off and then you start getting invatations to play with and calling you a cracked God.

One of my best memories playing online as teen honestly
