Everyone relies on the matchmaker to di the job for them (In comp at least), let me show the thought process of me and my duo (and heck even me solo).

Alright hmmm healing isn’t working, (this needs to be identified fast) I need to take a flank or take a off angle.

Duo who are we attacking? (usually a ana).

Duo: The tanks ignoring the high ground…
again…

Me: I’ll take care of it Yoinks tank to high ground

Duo: I don’t have room to damage do damage.

Me: I have tree of life go ahead and kill the widow.

(Lifeweavers kiriko combo).

Both: Sees a Mercy rezing WE DON’T DO THAT ROUND HERE! kills Mercy either before or after Rez rezes ain’t free period.

A Pharah… Switch with me. “We both literally go in spawn to exchange Illari and Baptiste with each other”
Me: Pick pharah again.
Him: we dare you.

Me: Gives his zen platform to high ground Proceeds to kill person on high ground

Me: Dang I pulled the wrong person.
Him: double kill Triple kill never mind that was indeed the right person.

Him: constantly gets people low hp.

I could care less about checking profiles (in comp) Im trying to win my games heck I’ve probably beaten masters and gm players and don’t even know it?

You know why because I’m here to win it’s not the matchmakers job to play the game for me.

If I wanma drop bodies? Imma go Baptiste.

If I want high survivability and playmaking potential Imma go lifeweaver.

If I just want to hard dps with lock on damage Imma go Moira.

I’m glad that just in case I always have a person I can call on. Scree having the “GM” on our team we ARE the gm!

im not afraid to show what characters i play but i feel like a private profile is people are hiding something

Change your perspective do things people consider “Stupid” try and play faster, slower, heck I suck at brig but sometimes I pick her just because tracer.

If there’s someone else on your team (like in vc) link with them do things become the stars of the show

Sombrafeet! Exactly! I haven’t checked a profile in so long! Im to busy worrying about how I’m actually gonna win the game!

Heck I’ve probably bumped into multiple “masters challengers” or etc when I was plat but guess what I still got to masters.

If I was checking profiles allll the time I’d be finding all sorts of excuses to not try my hardest and just “gg go next” no way I’d be where I am now.

I couldn’t give a crap about people seeing my profile. Yeah I’m in bronze hard stuck, but I’ve carried many a game with Rein and Reaper, and I’ve yoyo’d between tiers so whatever. If people want to blame me because I’m bronze, while they have utter dogwater mechanics and game sense-that’s a them problem, not me. But I will thank them for making me laugh.

They should learn to git gud before running their mouths-I’m not the one with a 3-10 K/D in a game. I’m also not the one jeapordizing a team fight by not being in VC and being AFK because I’m typing in chat flaming my own team. Say it to me in VC instead of being a gutless punk who blames others for their own shortcomings.

I, Can actually heavily agree…Im mute Not by choice i physically cant talk So i cant sit in a vc and really…“Communicate” I do everything through incredibly quick Texts or pings But that doesnt mean i dont sit in the vc because i absolutely will
Ill listen to every call out every order everything asked or said and will do my best to follow through…I get to much anxiety when it comes to tanking/dps So i purely play support (Not to say i dont dps/tank in-between) But my profile is always on full display i hide nothing if im having a hard game or getting curbstomped then thats on me…I wont sit there and flame my tank or the dps or other support for something that might of been my fault hahaha We need more reins like you

Having visible profiles really shows the the power level of the lobby in QP, but there is always some dubiousness in them due to private profiles. Its really masks if the match maker is even working properly.

I’d be perfectly fine with a silver + master support combo provided the enemy team is running the same silver + master players in the support roster.

Yea same, I find that isn’t a super common take on the forums. I’d go far enough and extend it to my ranked games. I’m GM but my support queue times are so bad, put me in Masters games against an equivalent support. But it’s easy for me to prefer queue times over quality matches when my queues are absurd.

If you check more than 4 profiles during a match, a giant nose icon should appear above your head for all to see.

Was. Gave up with tanking as nobody was prepared to work as a team in my games, so just stopped. Besides, Rein is now pretty much no longer viable except on very few maps. And people seem to have a fear of using a big rectangle that protects them. Very weird.

And to be honest I’m not good enough on other tanks, and I won’t play broken tanks like Orisa because playing broken tanks don’t improve you as a player-they’re merely a crutch to compensate for you’re lack of skill. So Rein is my go to guy-he’s an honest tank. And he also has the same taste in music as me…

Absolutely, I fully understand that there’s a lot of people with various real life situations that can affect how they can play the game. But the ones who are just general douchebags-worst of the worst. If people don’t want to talk, but listen to VC for callouts etc and acknowledge them, I’m more than happy with. Because generally they do warning pings, they do the countdown thing before charging in etc, that’s great.

But the ones who are on VC all the way through the game, say absolutely nothing. Then when the game is lost and they suddenly come on VC to flame the entire team, and do the same thing in match chat-they can do one, and I’ll instantly report them.

Even though I’m no longer tanking, and I’m now Reaper(ing) (because I want that skin bad, along with the voice line and highlight intro lol), I’ll still maintain the same principles. There’s too many [insert deregatory term for douchebag players] in this game that ruin it for others, and that’s why hardly anyone is on VC. I’m normally first on just to lighten the mood and relax people-and there’s always “that one guy” who pipes up to ruin everything.

I’m not here to say I’m the greatest player becaue I’m not-I’m in bronze for a reason, and have been for a while, but I have had my moments in the past to help elevate my teams from losing to winning positions. But it all it takes is for people to not be douches to other players to improve the atmosphere. A good atmosphere can make a game more enjoyable and that’s what motivates players.

Checking profiles is pointless anyway when 99% of them a private. Just a waste of time.

I’ve been stuck in gold the closest i got was gold1 then got deranked to bronze5 and got back into gold4
So im in no way the “best”
but i really do understand all of that haha which is why ill restate… We need more like you haha, I usually get the scum treatment because i cant talk and it angers people or makes them less likely to play with me

Mute them. Block them. Report them. The one saving grace is that the good eggs outnumber the trash. Don’t let them ruin the game for you. It’s the bad ones that leave the longest lasting impression, so don’t let them do that.

They’re angry at their own inadequcies and they’re not prepared to work on them, so they take it out on other people.

i dont let anything stop me from playing overwatch
I’ve played it since beta And ill continue to always play overwatch
i genuinely love the game and dont really care what anyone thinks or feels about that… overwatch to me is super fun and its especially so when you have friends to play with who understand.
I play my matches start to finish regardless of how bad it gets i put everything i can into them haha
