Still takes 10-30 minutes for DPS to queue for a single game in competitive.
Yes I’ve tried other roles. I’m tired of playing healer. I want to climb on my DPS profile without waiting forever for each single game. Guess I have to post here every day since Blizzard refuses to acknowledge the issue and gives me no ability to complain to them directly.
Role queue is broken. Fix it BLIZZARD!
Cool
I’ve still only had 1 queue that was over 10 mintues. It was 11.
Almost all my queue have been ~6-9 mintues
Working as intended this change was necessary due to the amount of I only dps players matches were won and lost before they began, there is nothing to fix.
You’re 11-13-2 across your 3 most played dps roles. Your’re not climbing but actually falling
Ouch.
15 characterss
Imagine of you’re a tank or support flex who really wants to play some dps for a few days…you get the same que as dps mains…lovely isn’t it.
Yup because my play time for DPS has reduced drastically, I get no practice in and feel uncomfortable on it when I do actually play. Playing healer in a lower rank is ruining my game sense for my higher DPS SR. Games become far more stressful and I under perform in the far less DPS games I actually get to play.
what do you want them to do specifically?
They can’t magic in more tanks and support players.
And as long as people will get into the longest line, and then wait through it, and then do it again- dps will always be a long wait.
Make more tank and sup heros…
Smurfs are deranking and playing dps only ruining hames all the way down blizz has really done this to themselfs
Completely bs, i have my support role at 2510 and tank role at 2100 my dps is inbetween. Nowhere in me queing up have i ever experienced “lack of performance” because i play at a lower level. Like i said low gold (which is pretty much silver) on tank and low plat on support. You just arent doing well it has nothing to do with practice if you want you could always go play QP and practice there.
As for the wait times they really arent that bad, just do something else in the meantime. Study for a class, take ur dog for a walk, finger pop urself literally anything lol if you wanna play and not wait learn to love other roles or just play arcade. Blizzard cant fix everyone wanting to play DPS
Blizzard can’t do anything, it is just that DPS is the most popular role.
I’ve rediscovered the joys of skirmishing. Pretty fun actually.
Yeah i dont get why people hate skirmish, you can practice, do 1v1’s, chill around, troll people, or you can just sit there.
I wonder how you people come up with these things.

You cannot tell me what I am experiencing is invalid simply because you don’t experience it. I know what I’m experiencing.
-
All of your roles are within the SAME rank. You are gold on all of them.
My healer is mid-high gold, while my DPS is mid plat. The players in these ranks do play differently, to suggest that plats and golds play exactly the same is ridiculous. If I play healer at gold and get used to how people play there, they do not behave the same in my higher rank DPS. -
You say I’m not doing well and its nothing to do with practice and then suggest that I go practice in QP.
Well if that already didn’t make any sense, I’ll further expand upon it by saying that QP and COMP do NOT play the same. You can test out hero mechanics and practice aim in QP but you cannot see how that works with a team that operates within whatever rank you’re at in QP. You can only do that in comp in the rank that you are practicing at.
The wait times are bad. 10-30 minutes is bad. I know you’re being silly with the rest of your answer. I do love other roles but the waits on DPS and sometimes healer are ridiculous and should not be limiting what people can play.
Blizzard can fix this. Role lock may be an okay idea, but role queue might not be the answer if it forces a ton of people to be unable to undesired to play the game.
Just because role queue became part of the game doesn’t mean it was a fix or answer. And it’s created some irritating side effects that need to be remedied somehow or the system needs to be changed or removed.
You can fix it your self:
- Look for 5 friends
- make them play 2 tanks , 2 healers and 1 dps
- queue with them.
Problem solved.
Another way to fix it is threaten all other dps players who want to dps only to kick their as* in real life if they queue as dps.
A way for blizzard to fix it:
You queue randomly and the system decides what role you play.
You will stick in that role until you win.
If you win and want to stay in that role you can press a button
The system will then check if the queue time for that role is less then 5 minutes. If so it will allow you to queue as the same role again.
If not it will go to next role.
So tank, dps, support, tank, dps, support. etc…
This would be fantastic if I could just magically create 5 friends who want to play the game (My wife is the only one I know that plays with me.); make them all play every single time I want to play comp (cuz 6 peoples lives and jobs line up perfectly to play a video game regularly); and MAKE them play those role (This is just stupid.)
That solves nothing.
Imagine if blizzard threatened to kick your a$$ for playing tank and healer. You’re just weak and bend over to the system with no voice to fight back. (I see you play dps in QP and tank and healer in Comp. Wonder why.)
This community is such a waste of breath. You are your comment are the definition of of this game community’s toxicity.
Not sure why you posted this ridiculous comment and then a seemingly actual attempt at answering the problem. Not sure if that’s the answer but at least it’s a start at looking at something different that can fix the issue. I still see that system leading to similar issues. The main problem is not being to play the game if you happen to like a popular role at the time of your queue. I’ve recently seen healer’s wait time creep up closer and closer to DPS.
This isn’t just about DPS mains but also healers and tanks who want to play DPS sometimes.
I don’t know whether you’re going for trolling or actually being helpful so I’m just gonna leave my whole reply.
I am not gold on all my roles for one, i am plat on support. For some reason it doesnt update on here, either that or i somehow lost SR without being on for the past week (which has happened already). Also you said YOU couldnt play well cuz you cant “practice” or whatever im saying it has nothing to do with that and if you wanted practice QP is available. unless ur playing with a premade team and are trying to get better as a team you arent doing anything different than in QP.
You play with randoms (just like in QP) you winning games is based on how good ur team is as well as you (just like QP) you play same maps (as QP) only difference is you dont progress in rank and people dont take it seriously.
Long wait times doesnt have anything to do with ur ability to play. If you havent driven a car in like 2 years do you all of the sudden forget how to drive? No didnt think so, nice excuses lol
Based on how you talk here, it isn’t surprising you can’t get enough friends to be able to 6 stack for comp.
Nobody will want to be your friend if you cant behave well.
I’m going off of what you said. 2510 is basically gold. Player behavior shifts around 2700.
And no skill does not decay. It used to at much higher ranks but it does not anymore. You just may have as much difficulty reading as you do thinking.
Again, practice in QP and practice in Comp are not the same thing. You can only solo practice your own mechanics in unlikely scenarios in QP. You cannot practice the other aspects of actual comp without playing actual comp. People’s attitudes and strategy differ from comp to QP. People are more laid back in QP and even if they want to win, they are not trying with the same intensity as in comp. If you play comp competitively, you should know this and see the difference when in QP.
Dude seriously. “Only difference is people don’t take it seriously.” That’s a massive difference. Seriously. I’d love to know what your IQ is.
Long wait times means less play time. Less play time means less practice. Playing other roles means less practice with DPS.
Aim mechanics are a perishable skill.
The heroes in the game are vastly different and your strength with each character is a depreciating skill.
If you don’t drive a car for two years you may be rather nervous or anxious getting behind the wheel. You may be hesitant. You get rusty at things you do not do for long periods of time.
I’m going to stop replying to you, it’s become clear that you are either trolling or should be getting ready for grade school right now. Try not to drink the white bottle under the sink, no matter how delicious it looks.
