So something I’ve noticed recently (and it happened in my last game two games), is that I’m still being punished for a leaver from my previous game. To be more precise; if someone leaves my Competitive game before the match ends, and then the timer that usually comes up expires so that you can leave as well; not be punished, but still take the loss, it seems as if you’re STILL punished for it regardless coming into the next game. This is because in the very next game, the SR you gain (assuming you win) is greatly reduced that you know something is suspicious; especially if you know you had a particularly great performance in that game; at least as it relates to the metrics that the system monitors to give you Performance-Based SR.
In my own case; two games ago, on Blizzard World Point 1, Defense; we had 2 leavers after about 2 minutes into the official start of the round. I played until that “Leaver Punisher Timer” expired so that I could leave and not be punished for it (because lets face it, it was a lost cause with 2 players missing anyway). I went from about 1803 SR to 1773. Fine. I accepted that. The next game; I performed pretty well as Pharah and got myself quite a few big fight-winning moments and eliminations; I honestly can’t remember if I had a medal for it, but I do know I was “On Fire” some amount of time. When we won the match, I only went from 1773 SR to 1783 SR. Like, I do not usually see gains of less than 15 even when I perform atrociously and still win, but 10 SR? For a game I won with a pretty strong performance? Which came suspiciously after I left the last game thanks to leavers?
… Sounds extremely suspicious to me and doesn’t make sense whatsoever.
EDIT: This isn’t the first time this has happened either; but this time, it got to me enough to make me take to the forums because I’ve been on a losing streak from about 2,330 SR straight down now to 1,783 and seeing that 10 SR gain just really got to me.
