Remember the kid from the Overwatch cinematic reveal who took the Gauntlet and BTFO’d Widowmaker? I’d like to see that after several years had passed, he’d had been training since his encounter with Widow and Reaper in order to join the newly-assembled Overwatch team. After all, Tracer did tell him that, “The world could always use more heroes.”
Obviously though, he needs to be portrayed as legally old enough (at least 18) to be put into an FPS game, but I’d like to hear what you guys have to say about it.
I just hope that they do something with those two. TBH if I were Tracer, I would’ve definitely noted how the kid showed bravery and initiative since he was the one responsible for Talon failing to retrieve the gauntlet. He is absolutely hero material, and I’d really like them to expand on that.
that cinematic doesnt seem to be canon, it doesnt really fit into the current timeline of OW.
and even if its canon, it should be somewhere after “Recall” and “Zero Hour”, which is only a few days/weeks apart. so he would still be a kid
but idk he maybe can work as an intern/trainee in new OW organization or something, fetching peanut butter for Winston while training with Cassidy and Baptiste. and maybe can be a playable hero if there’s a timeskip somewhere
I don’t remember a lot of key details, but the current “canon” has had a lot of inconsistencies in terms of continuity, but you might be right regardless.
If i remember right, that cinematic was made before the game became a shooter. I think the original idea of Overwatch was an MMO where you got to make your own hero. That’s why both winston and tracer say things like “the world can always use more heros”
I’ve done a bit of 3D modeling and animating myself, and what I’ve learned from it is that animation in general is an incredibly tedious and time-consuming task.
If your characters aren’t doing a lot, maybe, but you have to remember how much went on in that video, and how much detail there was. It wasn’t just a big white empty room, there was a lot of stuff.
Keep in mind as well, that trailer actually came out 1-2 years BEFORE the game itself was released.
