I made both inbound and outbound rules blocking following IP ranges:
157.175.0.0 - 157.175.255.255
15.185.0.0 - 15.185.255.255
and 15.184.0.0 - 15.184.0.0
Now I just joined a game, realized I have 150ping, and upon pressing CRTL+SHIFT+N it said the IP of server was one within the firewall blocked range.
Does this workaround not apply anymore? Is there something that stopps the firewall from acting? Is there anything I can do so Blizzard doesnt force me on 150 ping servers?
EDIT: Also I queued 15min for a Masters Support game for this garbage
That so-called workaround is no good because they are always going to be updating IP address on servers. Not to mention trying to block or blacklist IP address can cause issues including getting penalized for not properly connecting to the game server when you are assigned a match.
Your better option is to try and use a VPN service that connects to a VPN server in Versailles or Amsterdam. Even then, you may connect to servers like the Bahrain server in order to accommodate matchmaking for you and other players (especially during low peak times or at extremely low or high Skill Ratings).
I am about as close to the French, NL border as it gets. Amsterdam is a 45min drive from here.
So you are telling me there aren’t 11 other same-ranked players in all of Europe to put me in a lobby with? Or rather I am forced to play at a 150ping disadvantage to accomodate for the queue times of some genlteman in Saudi Arabia? How is this fair. That’s how you lose customers.
